- Santa Cruz La Laguna - The local women’s team warmly greets visitors at the main pier, guiding them through Santa Cruz from the shoreline to the community, offering insights into the customs, lifestyle, and daily routines of the residents.
Visitors will become familiar with the main road leading from the pier to the local house where the workshop will be conducted. Depending on the specific house, different areas may be explored. Travelers have the option to take a tuktuk if preferred.
- Santa Cruz La Laguna - The primary venue will be a local house, determined by the schedules of the women on the team. The following activities will be hosted there:
TRADITIONAL CUISINE: Tourists and local women collaborate in a wood-fired kitchen to learn how to prepare traditional dishes such as tamale, tamalitos, tortillas, or puliki. Afterwards, everyone enjoys the meal they have created together.
CRAFT WORKSHOPS: Participants receive an introduction to fabric making and/or handmade jewelry. They learn to set the initial thread for sewing, craft their first piece of jewelry, and dress in traditional Santa Cruz attire.
TEMAZCAL EXPERIENCE: Participants unwind and immerse themselves in the local tradition of temazcal, a small adobe structure used for steam baths.
