Incredible experience - What an amazing experience this was. The ladies met us and took us back to their home for a great authentic jewelry and cooking lesson. The 2 women were very nice and even with a language barrier, they helped us every step of the way. The food turned out delicious.

Cultural Day - We loved having this cultural experience during our last full day in Guatemala. Ana and Francisca were very accommodating and patient with us. We had a great time cooking traditional Guatemalan food and the temazcal was surprisingly relaxing. We would highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in learning more about Guatemalan culture.

It was a refreshing and informative event!! - Preparing the food for lunch was amazing the children really enjoyed it along with us sitting all together and eating the meal. Making the jewelry was fun and the ladies were so welcoming; we felt right at home!

Favorite Guatemalan Experience - The most authentic experience we had in Guatemala. Las mujeres de la luna were incredibly welcoming even though we did not speak perfect Spanish. They welcomed us into their home and were super fun to vibe with!! the weaving was our favorite part! it was such a fun process and so nice to take home our work! as well, the tamalitos de chiplin we helped prepare were sooooo good!!! and of course, the temezcal was so relaxing. overall, we learned so much!! Definitely different from our other touristy experiences around lake Atitlan. could not recommend more.

Good experience! - This was a very interesting and eye-opening experience. The host family was very gracious in opening their home to us. My only recommendation would be that if you don't speak Spanish, make it clear that you will need a translator.

Highlight of our trip! - We absolutely loved our time with the Mujeres de la Luna, it was the highlight of our trip to Lake Atitlan. Getting to weave our own napkins, and cook our own Guatemalan meal was so interesting and fun. The women were so patient when teaching us how to weave, and how to make tamales. We also appreciated Miguel translating for us as we aren’t fluent in Spanish. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking to better understand the Guatemalan culture!

A once in a lifetime experience - My friend and I spent an incredibly lovely day with 2 women from this community of women in the village of Santa Cruz. From the moment the women met us near the boat dock to the very end of the day, we had a wonderful and very authentic experience. When we first arrived at the home of one of the women, they dressed us in traditional dress so that we looked more like them. They helped each of us make a bracelet. Afterwards, we worked side by side with them cutting up vegetables for lunch. They tried to teach us how to make tortillas, but we found it harder than it looked. We shared an extremely healthy and beautiful lunch with our newfound friends. Afterwards, the women had prepared and heated the home's adobe temazcal, which is kind of like a steam room. They go into these rooms when the weather is cold in order to bathe. They had it all set up and we enjoyed a few minutes in the steam room. Following a big lunch, and the steam room, the ladies had set up a place for us to rest. They brought us blankets and really treated us so very special. We probably could have taken a nap but we wanted to see more of Lake Atitlan. We really appreciated this treat to spend this day with these indigenous ladies of Santa Cruz. We were able to hear about their lives and share with them as women often do. We realized that although our lives are very different from theirs, that as women in this world, we share many things in common. We understand the trials and tribulations of other women and we definitely support these women's need to improve and take their own lives and their futures in their own hands. This is such a special opportunity so if you read this review and are so inclined to help support other women to improve their lives, spend this unique day with these wonderful, special ladies.

Fun, creative and authentic experience - We loved the local experience with the women of Santa Cruz la Laguna at Lake Atitlan. We spend the day with them and they taught us to weave our own bracelet, cook a traditional dish and make jewelry. They were so lovely and very welcoming in their home. Would recommend if you are looking for an authentic experience in Guatemala!

Did not show up - We were so excited as the reviews and description for this experience looked amazing. Unfortunately, we waited for the hosts at the meeting place for an hour. They did not respond to any messages and we ended up getting a refund. So sad :(
