YouAreCostaRica Surf & Adventure Company - We will be waiting for you at our office in Playa Grande, from there we will provide you a private transportation to the best surfing spot of the beach for your surfing level, away from the crowd. Instructors will be waiting at the beach with all the equipment. First 10-15 min we will be giving you the safety speech, some tips and we will practice on the sand before we get in the water.
Then we will start to catch some waves mind while your professional instructor gives you personalized tips for you to improve.
In the middle of the lesson, we will take a break to eat fruits and drink water. You need to recover the energy.
After the break, the instructor will teach you how to catch your own waves depends on your performance.
At the end of the lesson we will stop at the office for you to take a shower and change your clothes.
Lesson Schedule: 7am, 10am, 1pm or 4pm.

The Surfing Lesson includes:

Great experience - surfing a must - They views and the beach are unbelievable. My 13 year old son and I took surf lessons with Marcos who was absolutely fantastic. My son picked it up right away. Planning to come back again.

Family surf lessons - We had a great experience! There seemed to be a disconnect between the tour company and TripAdvisor when we first arrived they did not know we were going to be there. Kyressa (hopefully the spelling is close) was wonderful though. She apologized and went right to work getting a tour guide scheduled and offered us several different options to make up for the confusion. We chose to spend the morning on the beach and do the surf lessons in the afternoon instead. Kyreesa provided us with free chairs, umbrella, and wake boards to make sure we enjoyed our morning.
The lesson itself was awesome! Erickson was great with the kids and had us all up on boards including me in the first 15 minutes and I am old and overweight. He was also very safety conscious and even shared some of his own personal zinc barrier sunscreen when he saw ours wasn’t cutting it. The kids loved the lesson and I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic surfing lesson! - We took a private surfing lesson in August 2024, and our very patient instructor helped 2 clumsy people actually stand up on surfboards. We felt like superheroes. Looking forward to taking another lesson when we go back to Cost Rica.

Amazing! - Holy Moly, the crew at “YOUARECOSTARICA” was the most helpful, resourceful, and engaging company that I have ever had the pleasure doing a family trip. Our flight was cancelled, we were beat when we finally arrived and they somehow were totally able to “fix” everything! They arranged childcare for two littles and the Nannie’s were delightful - we were all blown away with services and hope one day we can come again to to just enjoy their hospitality!

Our kids loved learning to surf and picked it up fast - The kids had a great time and all got to stand up quite a bit. The only feedback was make sure you ask for the full two hours if you pay for that. It a was great and they loved it. They were just disappointed it was a little shorter than we expected. Good time.

Great experience for first timers! - Wonderful experience. Marco and Daniel were extremely helpful. My 9 year old was a natural and my 7 year old did a great job. They were patient and caring! Thank you for a great experience for first timers!

I caught some waves on my first lesson thanks to the great instructors! - A lovely family business who are incredibly accommodating and so so kind. Genuinely seemed stoked for you when you made improvements and caught waves. Super good vibes all round and booking a surf lesson here is a must to make you playa grande visit complete. Can’t wait to go back and take some more. Can’t express just how lovely everyone was and so welcoming and supportive. Super informative and will go above and beyond to answer any questions and queries you have. Thank you all again for making my stay so wonderful!

Amazing Surf Experience! - Marcos was the absolute best surf instructor our family has ever had! He was great at explaining everything, calm - which made us less nervous and very informative. We have surfed in various countries and this was the best experience!! Thank you for a great day.

Surf - We have grown from beginners to intermediate surfers under Marco's attentive coaching. We highly recommend surfing with him and his team regardless of your age, abilities, size, and experience. Our son is 20 years old and we are in our 50's. I wish we could post a video here!
