Next is a 10 minute break where we provide you with fresh pineapple & ice water before going back out for the last hour of the lesson. You will be catching your own waves in no time as our instructors are among the best in Costa Rica & make sure you have fun.
We take children as young as 4-our instructors are amazing with children and we have had beginners as young as 75 out. At our secluded beach, we are the only ones there and you avoid the crowded, rocky areas of Tamarindo (we are right across from Tamarindo). Our beach is a sand walk out with no rock - perfect for beginners with great waves as well!
Our class sizes are no more than 4 students per instructor and we offer semi-private and private as well (ask for details).
We also take 150-250 professional pictures of your lesson and video as well (extra). The only surf company in Costa Rica to offer that. Come see why we are #1 on TripAdvisor.

Simply fantastic - What an amazing experience we had.
Jhoel is a great and patient instructor and we could really feel making progress.
MJ was also super friendly and provided us with fresh water and pineapple.
Highly recommended, would definitely book again.

Mojo Surfing was a great adventure and perfect for new surfers! - We loved our Mojo Surf lesson! A friend recommended them. I contacted them on WhatsApp through their website.
Tim and his wife MJ were so helpful and answered all my questions. We had a car so we drove there (easy 20 min from the Westin) but I think they will do pick ups too. And they schedule the lessons around low tide so it’s easy to learn.
We are not surfers and not very athletic. :/ But Johel was so patient and a very good instructor. He helped us feel confident and safe. It wasn’t pretty :) , but we did indeed stand up on the surfboard! And we had so much fun!
It’s a very quiet, secluded beach. When we started our lesson there was one other surfer on the beach. Much better than when we walked down Tamarindo beach with loads of lessons happening in the crowded water.
I highly recommend Mojo to anyone visiting Costa Rica and wanting to learn to surf. You won’t be disappointed. It’s a great time and very reasonably priced.
There was fresh pineapple and delicious homemade banana bread (thank you, MJ!) and cold water after the lesson. Johel even cut down a coconut and we had fresh coconut water.
Tim also had other recommendations for our time here and we are so grateful we found them. Our plan is to get into better shape and come back next year for another lesson! Thank you so much!

Best Beginner Surf Experience - MJ and JoEl were a pleasure to meet and work with. We are a family of 4 with a daughter (19) and a son (14). We live near the gulf in FL and are accustomed to gulf-sized waves. We were somewhat intimidated by the size of the waves upon arrival, but the instructors knew just where to go. Everyone made it up multiple times and had a blast. I can’t recommend highly enough!

Surf Fun - We had a great experience with Moho and the crew. Definitely will be back to CR to surf with them again! I’ve never surfed before and was able to get up every time.

Hanging ten at 67 - Johel was fantastic as an instructor. My grandson and I took lessons and my grandson was up on the board in no time. I made it up a few times despite both of us being complete novices! He is patient, encouraging and very friendly! Highly recommend Mojo Surf Adventures!

All ages can learn to surf with Mojo Surf Adventures - During our visit to Playa Flamingo, we (an “older gentleman”, a young adult and a teenager) had arranged to learn surfing for the first time with Mojo Surf Adventures. Our instructor, Johel, was great. Very patient and really interested in helping us learn. We had great communication with the owner, Tim, from the US and getting us setup for our days at the beach. We decided to do two days of instructions and that helped a lot as we got the hang of it after one day but the second day allowed us to practice some more and get a better feel for it. The pictures prove that even an old dog can learn new tricks. Definitely recommend Mojo Surf Adventures.

Amazing Surf Lessons! - Surfing at Playa Grande with Mojo Surf Adventures was a highlight of our trip!!!
Johel and William were are instructors and they were SO amazing! Super friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Very good instructors. They made sure we were having a great time, feeling safe, and successful. We pretty much had the area to ourselves and it was beautiful. Mojo provides water, delicious pineapple, and amazing homemade banana bread. During the second half pictures were taken and shared with us free of additional cost.
We communicated with Tim, the owner, via WhatsApp and he was also great, personable, and very responsive, even though he was out of town at the time.
We followed our time with the afternoon in Tamarindo, a short drive away. Glad that we didn't do our lesson in Tamarindo as it was busier and the water choppier.
We are so happy with our experience with Mojo Surf Adventures and would highly recommend them!
