So worth it! Hike totally doable. - My friend and I did this tour and I’m so happy we did. Everything about it was amazing! Diego (the best) was able to pick us up all the way from El Tunco and drop us off! Yes the hike is challenging, but it’s doable. I wouldn’t say my friend and I are the most fit people out there but we managed! Diego and our local guide Karla, were INCREDIBLY motivating and stopped frequently for short breaks. They were extremely knowledgeable about the area, and just both so fun to be around. Our group had about 5 young people (in 20s-30s of all shapes and sizes) and a couple in their 50s/60s and we ALL MADE IT UP! The view from the top (and all along the hike) is absolutely stunning and the guy selling ice cream and chocolate covered bananas at the top feels just heaven sent! I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND hiking boots and a walking stick (you can rent one for 50¢) because there are some loose rocks towards the top, and the boots/stick help provide some stability! The hike itself is about 4 hours total and from there you head to the Lake! While you wait for your lunch to be ready you’re able to rent jets skis/ take a dip in! It’s such a stunning experience I would do it 100 times over and recommend it to anyone who visits! Don’t let the comments scare you, it’s not that bad!!!

Excellent! - An excellent tour! Our guide Diego kept an eye on everyone in the group, and was very punctual with the pickup schedule at the Hotel. It is worth this walk, you know two iconic places in one day, and the organization is very good.

100/10 - Amazing tour. Diego is the best tour guide in the world! The hike was a challenge, but the views were well worth it. And lunch on the lake to finish the day made it perfect.

Traveling to El Salvador for the first time ** - If you’re skeptical, don’t be! My bf and I were first time travelers to El Salvador as well and we can assure you that there is nothing to be worried about here. Book your tours with El Salvador Positive Tours! We had the pleasure of being assigned to Diego Gomez. He was very informative, reassuring and was such a genuine person; please request him as your guide as he was simply the best! Diego was so pleasant to be around with and was very courteous with every member of the group(s) we were able to be a part of. The pickup was convenient, punctual, and the tour was absolutely organized. We highly recommend tours with this company. We enjoyed the tour so much, that we did two back to back and requested to be assigned with Diego once more 😊 Note: The Santa Ana volcano hike is a little challenging as it is inclined if you’re not used to the exercise, but there are flat terrain areas which allow you to catch your breath lol the hike was overall great. Unfortunately because of Mother Nature, we were unable to climb to the very top because the winds made it dangerous at the top of the crater, but the sights were still beautiful. This activity is highly recommended. The ruta de Flores tour was also so much fun!

Great professional and fun guided tour - Very very nice experience of climbing to Santa Ana volcano and having lunch at Lake Coatepeque. Diego was our driver and guide, very friendly, good driver and super good people. I recommend it 100%!!!

Diego cared very much about his group, he took very good care of us and he told us stories about what it was like to grow up in El Salvador. I did a volcano hike with Diego, I will never forget this tour, it was so informative and interesting.
