• Magalies Canopy Tours - Ziplining in the Magaliesberg mountains.

The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour is situated in the Magaliesberg Biosphere Reserve, just 1 ½ hours from Johannesburg and 1 hour from Pretoria.

Eleven platforms are constructed against the cliff and rock faces of the stunning Ysterhout Kloof, a picturesque gorge carved from the mountainside. These platforms are connected by long steel cables that participants slide along to reach the next platform. Similar to a “foefie” slide, the canopy tour involves zigzagging down the kloof, pausing at each platform to take in the breathtaking views and surrounding ecology.

The Magaliesberg mountains host a diverse range of plant, animal, and birdlife. Keep an eye out for the elusive klipspringer leaping from rock to rock below, or look up to see an endangered black eagle soaring above. Two trained canopy guides ensure the safety of each participant while sharing fascinating information about the indigenous plants, bird life, ecology, and geology of the area.
