The Paul Kruger House is a simple yet enlightening museum located in the heart of Pretoria, providing insight into the life of Paul Kruger, the 19th-century Afrikaner statesman and President of the Transvaal.

Designed by the English-speaking architect Charles Clark in 1884, this cottage-style residence was constructed for the expansive Kruger family. According to folklore, Clark was known to blend his building cement with milk instead of water. The house’s most iconic element is the lengthy veranda that graces its front, reputedly a preferred spot for the president to engage with the public.
