For a nice walk on the water - Kayaking 4h with Nordic Paddling with Sandra Some explanations on the parking then we equipped ourselves in waterproof suits. We then started kayaking (two-seater) after explanations on handling. A beautiful walk on both banks of the Fjord, getting as close as possible to the banks so you can look at curiosities with the Guide's comments. Kayaking is one of the best ways to enjoy the fjord and feel closer to the water. Trip Tip: provide a cap and water as well as warm but light clothing

The most intimate way to experience the beauty of the Norwegian fjords - Before I booked the trip I read the reviews, and still they couldn’t prepare me for this up-close, intimate experience with the beauty of the Lysefjord. We knew we wanted to appreciate the amazing fjords not just by seeing them on a ship, but also to hike with our feet, and to drift on its crystal clear water. This certainly surpassed my expectations! Our guide Ana was amazing. Pleasant, knowledgeable and did everything to make sure we enjoy the kayaking safely. The views were stunning and tranquil. Ana pointed out a happy seal swimming and flipping to us. And later probably the same seal was basking on a rock . We were able to just watch him quietly, floating at a close but not too close distance from this seal. Amazing! This meeting place was 45 minutes drive from Stavanger. The last stretch was a single lane road with two way traffic. There wasn’t a lot of traffic. We did need to back our car 10 yards into a road side space to allow the incoming cars to go first. So drive slowing and pay attention to those bypassing spaces just in case you need to. We did the morning 3 hour trip. And after that, we drove 25 minutes over to the pulpit rock, and hiked it within 5 hours. All in all, very special!!!

Highlight of our trip! - Kayaking the fjord with Nordic Paddling was the best part of our Norway trip. The location was easy to get to with their directions. They provide all the gear, but you should definitely bring a big water bottle, and maybe change of clothes (I stayed dry but my husband got soaked, it seems this was the case for other people too and I don’t know why). Dan was an awesome guide. He was calm and funny and made everyone in the tour group feel included. He gave really good instruction and even though we weren’t super experienced with kayaking (there was someone else on the tour who had never kayaked before too), it was pretty easy to get used to, especially since the kayaks were comfortable. The weather was thankfully amazing - sunny, beautiful, calm. Everyone was allowed to go at their own pace and Dan gave good information on some of the things we were passing and seeing. He was very easy to talk to and friendly. And of course, the views were stunning and so serene. If we were staying longer we probably would have come and kayaked again with Nordic Paddling. Worth every single penny spent!

Stunning fjord paddle experience - Unbeatable trip down the beautiful Lysefjord! Expertly led by Anna with a lot of care and attention to safety and great information about the history of the fjord and pointing out of local landmarks (including the incredible Pulpit Rock). Some stamina needed on the way back with wind and waves against us but exhilarating because of this! If you like stunning scenery and being in any kind of boat, then make sure this is on your 'must-do' list!
