Great experience! A must... - Great experience! A must do when in Costa Rica, I had so much fun! I’ve been ziplining before in Hawaii and Canada, and this has been my favorite because the lines are long and you can go really fast. We were picked up at the hotel at 7:30 am and dropped off around 11 am. We did the 12 cable zipline which I highly recommend. We had a group of 10 people and 4 guides and a photographer. The guides were very efficient, professional and helpful, and I felt very safe. There is a moderate hike uphill at the beginning to get to the first zip line so I recommend comfy shoes and workout clothes. Pictures and videos are available for purchase. Highly highly recommend this experience! Such a memorable time flying through the beautiful scenery of La Fortuna.

Thrill of our trip! - This was an amazing experience! The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. They shared information about the surrounding area like the volcanos which was very interesting. Definitely recommend the 12 zip lines option since you will get a variety of lengths, speeds and views throughout the experience. Highly recommend!

Great time! - Amazing time! Be ready if you do the 12 ziplines vs 7 that there will be a lot of stair hiking. (only to the very first zipline) Totally worth it though! Highly recommend.

Worth the money - You will have a great time. Don’t brake unless they give a signal. Be prepared to walk a lot of stairs.

If you can do the steps you will love it. - It was a lot of fun. Worth the price. Be prepared to walk up a lot of steps to get to the starting point. A suggestion to the company…..just tell us not to brake unless we see the signal before the first line!

Awesome tour but things you should know... - We did this zipline tour with our family (2 adults and 2 older teens) in July 2025 and we loved it! It was a great tour through the jungle and trees and was so pretty. There were 12 lines total with many of them very long and at high speeds. The guides were great and professional. I would highly recommend this tour, however here are some helpful things that I learned that are worth sharing: - Rain: It was not raining for us, which was great. However, I spoke to the guides and they said that when it does rain it makes the lines very fast and it's harder to slow yourself down (braking is done by holding a leather brake pad on the line and squeezing tight as you approach the landing). There is a stop-spring at the end of each line that will still catch you, but if you can't slow yourself down by braking (due to rain), you will hit the spring pretty hard. This probably won't matter to most people, but the impact could be an issue for some if they have a bad back or something. Also, when it rains, the guides said that it's really hard to see as you go because rain is pelting your eyes. We did bring some plastic protective "shop glasses" to wear in case it was raining but didn't end up needing them. However, if it's raining, you might want to wear those or some sunglasses (yes, the guide said they allow sunglasses, but only if they have a strap that secures them to your head). - Phones/Cameras: Although the website says they don't allow you to bring anything with you, we brought our phones and they didn't care. However, they will not let you hold them as you ride. Instead, they need to be secured within a tight pocket or zipper area on your clothing. Our guide did offer to hold my phone and take a video for me on one of the ziplines and I let him do it. It ended up being an awesome video but I'll admit that I was pretty nervous that he would drop it. Thankfully he didn't! In regards to cameras, I noticed that another tourist did attach a GoPro camera to their helmet (screwed it into one of the holes on the helmet somehow) and the guides didn't care that they brought it. - Hiking/Walking: A big tractor pulls you to the start of the tour now so you don't have to walk up all that way. However, there is some walking between zip line stations and some of it is moderately steep. The trails are well-maintained but some of the hikes/walks were 200 yards or so through the jungle. (FYI, they have some water stations with water jugs and cups for drinking). - Waterfalls: The guide told me that the ziplines are all within a privately-owned 500 acre property (owned by an ex-president of Costa Rica). The land is right next to the La Fortuna waterfall property so yes, one of the ziplines goes nearly right over the top of the waterfall, which is so cool. There is also another smaller waterfall at the end of one of the zipline stations that is equally as beautiful. - Maleku Culture Village: At the end of the zipline tour, they walk you through a few small huts built by the native Maleku people of Costa Rica. For us, a tribal member gave a short 5 minute explanation about their culture, tribe and customs and then gave everyone a small sample of a ceremonial fermented corn drink. It seemed alcoholic but they assured us it was the "mild" version and ok for kids... but I'm almost certain it was on the moonshine side of the scale. Anyway, they also sold lots of hand-carved balsa wood animals and art that was painted in beautiful bright colors. But they only accept Colones cash at the hut so if you want to pay credit card etc, you have to take your souvenir back to the main zipline office and pay for it that way. - Price: The last advice I'll share is to check the price directly on the Arenal Mundo website at ArenalMundoAventura (dot) com. The price was about $12 USD cheaper per person on their site and even though TripAdvisor says they have a "PriceMatch Guarantee" it's an absolute joke and they will not do it. I discovered the cheaper price on the Arenal Mundo Aventura website the day before our excursion but it was too late to cancel with TripAdvisor. So I followed all of the proper TripAdvisor procedures to get a "PriceMatch" refund from TripAdvisor and they would not refund me the difference. They just kept sending me an email in poor English that said they verified the price with the vendor and that it was correct - whatever that means. I've called them several times as well and every time a foreign customer service rep with poor English just gives me the runaround and makes up excuses. It's ridiculous and very frustrating. So save yourself some money and book directly through the vendor's website if it's a cheaper price than TripAdvisor. It will also put more money in the pockets of the actual Costa Rican company since they won't have to share their revenue with TripAdvisor..... And shame on TripAdvisor for not honoring their "Pricematch Guarantee"!!!

Beautiful ziplines course in La Fortuna - Realistically, this tour met every requirement - There were 12 zip lines with beautiful views of the jungle. One of the lines was over the La Fortuna Waterfall. All of the staff were very friendly, hotel pickup was perfectly on time, and everything felt safe/well organized. The experience overall was very enjoyable, and I would recommend it. A few things that should be noted for future travelers - 1. There is a pretty intense hike up to the first line (mostly stairs/uphill), as well as additional uphill treks during the duration of the course. Some people absolutely fell behind, and basically played catch up the rest of the time. 2. For the sake of efficiency, staff will pair you up with guides and/or other individuals to increase the weight to make it across certain lines (primarily the two longest lines). 3. You may suffer some self-inflicted injuries due to your own improper use of equipment (personally, my arm touched the line when trying to correct course so I ended up with a burn, and I tore off a decent chunk of skin on my finger when pulling myself in on the longest line). User error for sure, but just be cautious. There was one individual from another family that ended up with significant burns on their arm that required the staff to issue first aid.
