A hidden gem between cocoa, nature and hospitality - Doing the Cocoa Tour with Fredy and his wife in San Rafael, Antioquia, was an unforgettable experience. Since we arrived at their farm, they welcomed us with a genuine warmth that made us feel at home. Fredy is an amazing guide, passionate about what he does, knowledgeable about the cocoa process and deeply connected to his land.
The tour is magical: we walked among cocoa crops while he explained in detail each stage of planting, harvesting and transformation of the fruit. We were able to roast and grind the grain, prepare our own chocolate and enjoy a delicious tasting that made us value this ancient food much more.
In addition to cocoa, the experience includes a moment of natural cocoa exfoliation (skin is soft and refreshed!) and a refreshing swim in a natural pool in the middle of the forest. It is a true gift for the body and spirit.
You can see that this project is made with love and respect for nature. More than a tour, it is a life experience that connects with the essentials. I recommend it 100%, especially for those who value conscious tourism, authentic stories and the work of farm families.
