immersive coffee tour - the guide and the coffee farmer were eager and pasisonate to share what they know about coffee, farming and other aspects of guatemalan country life. i was originally hesitant to join after having participated in one coffee experience a few days ago in el salvador. this visit was far more in depth and gives perspective on the intricacies of coffee farming, plant biology, the actual hands on picking, processing, roasting and making of coffee. i really appreciated it

Excellent Tour - We were unsure what to expect as this was our first tour in Guatemala and with Viator, but we were very impressed. Louis met us right on time and was so personable and friendly. Martha was our guide who shared so much information about coffee from seed to cup. Though she spoke little English, Louis did an amazing job of translating. Both Louis and Martha were thoughtful, attentive and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor despite the language barrier. As a matter of fact, with Louis as our translator, we didn’t feel that there was a language barrier.
We were fortunate in that my husband and I were by ourselves in the tour so received such careful attention. I believe both of our guides would have done the same though, no matter how large the group.
The hike was not difficult but I would recommend hiking boots if available. My tennis shoes got pretty dirty by the end.
We would highly recommend this tour!

Amazing and informative coffee tour - This experience was everything described in the reviews and more. My husband and I booked it because of the amazing reviews, but our tour guides Axel and Marta defied our expectations. They are incredibly knowledgable about the area, the coffee growing process, and the people and culture of Guatemala. We had the privilege of visiting Marta's home after the coffee tour where we got to roast and prepare a cup of coffee to drink with them while we chatted. This was our favorite experience we had while we were in Guatemala for one week. We could not recommend it enough.

Tour with Axel - I had an amazing experience on the coffee farm tour! Our guide, Axel, was incredibly knowledgeable and explained every step of the coffee-growing and roasting process in a way that was both informative and entertaining. His sense of humor made the tour even more enjoyable, keeping everyone engaged and laughing throughout. The farm itself was beautiful, and tasting the freshly brewed coffee at the end was the perfect way to wrap up the experience. Highly recommend this tour for coffee lovers and anyone looking for a fun and educational outing!

Fascinating experience learning about coffee! - I had a lovely time being guided by Axel. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I found out so much about not just coffee but Guatemala and Antigua in general! Marta, the coffee producer, was lovely and I even got to experience the coffee roasting process in her house which I loved. One of my favourite things that I have done in Antigua and I fully recommend!

The BEST, most informative local coffee tour - The only tour guide you need! Axel was absolutely amazing, taking us around the Filiberto family's coffee plantation. We took a tour into the hills, whilst one of the farmers shares her story about how to make and grow the coffee beans. Axel translated and was on hand for any questions.
Later we returned to the farmers house, where we sorted, heated and ground our own coffee before having a cup with a local snack. You also have the chance to buy some coffee at very fair prices. Axel also drove us to and from the area, stopping at various local attractions and telling us the history of Antigua and the surrounding towns. He gave us a lovely present at the end of the tour. It was honestly the best experience we've had in Guatemala. I couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you!

Take this tour! - We absolutely loved this tour. It's one of the best tours we've ever done and it will be a highlight of our time in Guatemala.
We learnt so much and Axel gave us plenty of opportunities to ask any kind of questions. He did a fantastic job of translating the information from the farmer into English for us. Axel really went out of his way to make this tour incredible and it was far beyond what we could have ever expected
