Amazing guide and good hike - Sam is an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and fun to be around. The hike was challenging with the inclines. A few spots where footing was hard to keep but we were just wearing tennis shoes.

Monkey mountain hike - Amazing hike with Sam. He’s a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and made the experience great for all 4 of us. (A couple with 2 teenage boys) The hike was challenging for some of us since we don’t hike much. Doable in tennis shoes, though I would’ve liked to have had a little more grip in a few spots. Sam’s English was impressively good and he spoke to many in Spanish along the way also. He was great at pointing out trees and animals and giving us the history of the area. The views atop monkey mountain were great too!

Highly Recommend! - This was a wonderful guided tour! Highly recommend. Sam is an amazing wealth of knowledge- he taught us so much about the area. Historical, political, financial, environmental, wildlife…you name it! The hike itself was pretty challenging in some spots, so I would recommend hiking boots and not just sneakers. Amazing views at the top!

Exploring something new with our guide Sam - Sam took us on a hike we would probably not have explored on our own. He is very knowledgeable about the flora, fauna, and history of the area. It was great fun and we felt a sense of accomplishment for a lazy beach holiday.

Great trip! - Sam was a super friendly, knowledgeable guide. Ecology, history, culture and current events--we discussed it all. He even let me practice my lousy spanish!!

A different view of the Riviera Nayarit - Sam is a very friendly, knowledgeable and fun guide. He showed us how to crack open palm nuts and eat them, as well as other details about the local flora and fauna. It’s a very healthy hike—not too long but pretty steep. You will also need to scramble up and down some rocks in places—but Sam is right there to make sure you’re safe. He’s also a great source for local restaurant recommendations and other things to do in San Pancho.

Mono mountain hike ending with coco frio - Sam is a friendly, knowledgeable and funny guide. We met him in Sayulita to bus together to the Mono Mountain hike, followed by a tasty/inexpensive taco lunch back in Sayulita. Our group ( 4 women) enjoyed his perspective as a local, and he easily switched between English and Spanish as he described the history, culture and local flora and fauna. The hike is challenging and rewarding, and he shared a secret view at the top off the beaten trail. Take plenty of water, and be sure to treat yourself to a fresh coco frio sold out of the back of a truck at the end of the hike.
