Great experience and very personal. - Jeronimo provides me and my family a great day. We met at the mercado and went to multiple stalls to collect the ingredients for the day. Once we arrived at his home/kitchen we allow ashed out hands and it was time to prep the meal. We had a multi course meal that everyone enjoyed. .the highlight was we each made our own handmaid tortilla which they then made into a delicious quesadilla. We will do this again next time we visit Cozumel. My 14 yo son says Jeronimo is the GOAT.

Extraordinary Culinary Instruction and sharing - 4 of us went to school with Jerónimo and his assistant at Cocina con Alma and we had the best time. J is extremely knowledgeable of all the special ingredients for which we shopped in the Mercado. Spices, sweets, vegetables, fruits, fish, shrimp, it seemed endless. Across the street a taste of fresh corn tortillas. Upon entering his Cocina we washed hands and went to work on our foods. Diced the veggies. Sliced the avocado. Mashed the beans. Stayed hydrated with hibiscus tea (or beer). We prepared and tasted 4-5 different salsa, it was hard to keep track. Then we learned to prepare the special seasoning in which fish and shrimp were dipped, then wrapped in banana leaves, then steamed, and then OH so delicious. Dessert was fresh mango and fresh ingredient Margarita. All in all a very homey and personal cooking adventure for the 4 of us. Highly recommended at 7 out of 5 stars (yes, that is more than 5 out of 5). Sadly I have no photos, we were just in the moment.

Absolutely delicious - What a great way to spend the afternoon. Jeronimo met us at the market and explained many of the foods and spices used in Mexican cooking, purchased what he needed and then took us to his home where everything was prepped and waiting. This is a very individual activity tailored to the people involved. My daughter and I were shown how the food was prepared and talked through the process but did very little of the actual work ourselves, which we really enjoyed. The food we ate was amazing. If you want a more hands on experience, be sure to let Jeronimo know when you book the event as he is happy to design the activity to meet the wishes of the group.

As authentic an experience as you can get! - What an awesome time! We started by shopping locally for all the ingredients. Jeronimo did an outstanding job explaining each and every item, what makes each unique and how to use each in cooking. Then we all went to his home where he showed us all how to prepare fresh salsas, tortillas, guacamole, ceviche and fresh mahi-mahi and shrimp which is what the class decided we wanted. You will learn so much more than just cooking - he opens up his home and his heart and his love for food and country is infectious. Highly recommend.

A Very Useful Cooking School Experience - This excursion exceeded our expectations. Jeronimo met us on time at the designated meeting spot. At the market, we gathered essentials for the meal we were to prepare. We learned a lot of characteristics of the ingredients that would be used to prepare the meal. Once we got to the home kitchen for cooking, met Angie - the assistant. It was an authentic Mexican environment. We helped prepare certain aspects of the meal and partook in eating the meal. Adjustments were made for preferences on spiciness. Any questions we had were answered. It was nice to meet Jeronimo's mother, as she originally started this cooking school many years ago. The end product of the meal was fantastic. We gained cooking skills, became more knowledgeable about Mexican food culture, and had fun!
