- San Martin de los Andes - Head north on National Route 40, and after passing through the Rio Negro town of Dina Huapi, cross the bridge over the Limay River. This marks the beginning of your journey through the northern part of Nahuel Huapi National Park, skirting the shores of the lake that shares its name, the largest in the region. You’ll arrive at Villa La Angostura, a charming small city with a picturesque shopping center and a variety of restaurants. Continuing on Route 40, you’ll encounter a fork: to the west (left), National Route 231 leads to the Cardenal Samoré Pass and into Chile; to the north (staying on the original route), Route 40 becomes known as the Seven Lakes Trail. This trail runs along the edges of Lakes Espejo, Correntoso, Villarino, and Falkner, eventually reaching the Vullignanco waterfall viewpoint.
