Nice & knowledgeable teacher - The instructor runs a chocolate factory & he is extremely knowledgeable! He reviewed the entire chocolate making process in detail. We tasted different types of chocolate & we had a chance to create our own chocolate bars. We even got to wrap & package it professionally. There’s no detail that he left out. We were worried there would not be options for us as are vegan but he had a lot of plant based chocolate & fillings. When looking for the place, look for the yellow gates.

Great class - For the class I was the only one there, but it was a fun experience. It was very informational, the history of chocolate, and the indigenous people's discovery and chocolate, then to the chocolate making process and tasting. Then making a chocolate bar. 10/10 would recommend.

Exceeded my expectations, truly extraordinary - I was really looking forward to this, and it did not disappoint! The owner of this small local business, Mauricio, was incredibly welcoming, educational, and has a beautiful soul. He has a deep connection to Cacao and a true passion for making chocolate with love, reverence, and respect for tradition. I have done quite a few chocolate tours and tastings, but I still managed to learn more, and he was willing to go very in-depth for me. I have never tasted chocolate like this, and I have a newfound respect for single origin chocolate. If I ever return to Costa Rica, this will be on the top of my list to experience again. Highly recommend!

Perfection! - Lucia was the sweetest and knowledgeable person. She made the experience feel easy and homey. Being able to learn about the history, and the process while tasting it throughout was fun and worthwhile. Now, let’s get to why you all are here… making the chocolate!!! Lucia walked us through each step perfectly and it was stress free. Being able to taste all of toppings and fillings so we could personalize our bars, made it feel more personal and professional. My sister and I had a blast and want to visit San Jose again with our family so we can experience this class again!

Loved the experience and enjoyed - I enjoyed learning of the history of cocoa. The unique taste, from the raw, slightly bitter to the smooth, velvety liquid chocolate. Sampling the cocoa at different stages was a delight. The transformation from bean to bar and its stages cocoa butter, powder and chocolate. The culmination of the tour was crafting my own chocolate treats and decorating my bar package. Thank you for the good time.
