Embark on a horseback adventure to the ancient Mayan site of Buena Vista, immersing yourself deep into the heart of the natural world to soak up the aura of our rainforest, plant life, and wildlife. Beginning in the Savana region, relish the picturesque landscape while riding alongside the serene Mopan River, and if you’re fortunate, catch sight of Howler Monkeys leaping from tree to tree, their strong howls echoing through the forest. Roam through the jungle paths leading to various Plazas, and acquaint yourself with their significance in Mayan heritage. Depending on the river’s depth, you may have the chance to ride in it. Following the ride, a short 10-minute drive will take you to the Xunantunich site. On top of the tallest temple, you will be treated to an awe-inspiring view of endless rainforest canopy, the Belizean border town of Benque Viejo, and its adjacent, Melchor de Mencos of Guatemala.
