Hi, I’d like to formally express my disappointment with my recent riding experience at your stable. First, I arrived 40 minutes early and was the first person at the venue, yet I was assigned to be the last rider to mount. Even the last two guests who arrived late were allowed to ride before me, which felt very unfair and uncomfortable. After getting on the horse, I immediately noticed that the saddle was sliding from side to side, which I consider a serious safety issue. I ride 4–5 times a month, so I have enough experience to recognize when something feels unsafe. When I raised this concern with your wrangler, I was met with a very rude response: “This is how we do it, ride it or don’t.” This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Only when I started recording the situation did he say he would speak with the manager. He then sent the rest of the group out and left me alone. The solution was to switch me to another horse, but instead of joining the group, I was taken on a completely different route by the wrangler himself. Throughout the ride, he was very unfriendly, did not communicate at all, and spent the entire time looking at his phone while on horseback. He also kept his horse directly in front of mine and moved at an extremely slow pace, making it impossible to enjoy the ride. This was completely different from what was advertised. Your listing clearly mentioned that the ride was suitable for different skill levels and that there would be opportunities for a light trot / faster pace, as well as the enjoyment of riding as a group. Instead, I was separated from everyone else and lost the group experience entirely. The horse itself was also very disappointing, showing almost no response to rein or leg cues. The tack and reins were noticeably different from those used by the other riders and looked very cheap and poorly maintained. Overall, I felt I was treated in a very unfriendly and disrespectful manner. I ride regularly in other cities and truly enjoy horseback riding. I was actually hoping to find a stable in San Diego where I could ride often, but this first visit to your ranch turned into a very upsetting experience. If you sincerely wish to keep a potential long-term customer, I would expect you to show some goodwill and issue a full refund for this ride. Thank you.
