Campesino Farm Tour, Sloth Tour, Hot Springs and Dinner - We had a Compesino Farm Tour, Sloth Tour, and Hot Tub with Dinner adventure with EcoTerra. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the plants growing in this farm and was able to share details that the farmers explained on their culinary and medicinal qualities. Got to say hi to the farm animals (i was missing mine), milk a cow, feed a goat. Tried juicing cane sugar and then drinking it with lemon and ginger. Watched the demonstration on fermented cane sugar. Made chocolate balls. Had a wonderful fresh, delicious lunch. Purchased some chocolate and coffee. To the sloth tour - on a managed farm area - very natural and safe appearing (not like a zoo) for the sloths. The site locates the sloths every day and leaves a flag. One of the flags we didnt see a sloth but we explored and then found it and the sloth was moving between trees. It was very magical to watch since most of the sloths were sleeping during the day. We had some time to return to our hotel to change and get ready for the hot springs (which was nice) The Ecotermes hot springs were very fancy and the dinner good. The shuttle picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel at the end of the day. I really appreciate how dedicated our tour guide was to the health of the environment and animals - she was very friendly and informative.

Not to be missed. - I always take my friends and family to this small family operation when they visit me and they always say that it is one of their favorite memories from their trip. The tour introduces you to organic farming practices and different types of plants and their uses. Hands on activities include milking a cow and extracting juice from sugar cane. The tour concludes with a home cooked lunch.

Rare immersive local farm experience! - This was such a special treat! We did so many things we have never done before, and may never do again! We milked cows, and then fed the fresh milk to a goat. We chewed on sugarcane and helped process the sugarcane to juice for us to drink! We met the lovely family who owned the farm, and they were so informative and hospitable! We learned about the process of making moonshine. Plus, we got to taste it! We ground our own cacao and made our own chocolate and then had a fresh farm lunch (with our own hand shaped tortilla)! Truly an amazing one of a kind experience! Highly recommend this tour and Guillermo as your guide!

So much fun - We were hesitant about this tour, but our guide Jasmine made all the difference as she ensured we had fun while also learning a lot about Costa Rican farming. We learned so much about everyday farm life on a small farm, and we had fun interacting with the family. From composting to chocolate production, we learned and experienced so much about life on the farm and how it fits in with current-day Costa Rica. Thank you Jasmine!

Visit to a family farm - The farm visit has been one of the highlights of our Costa Rica vacation. If you are on the fence, just go. It was so much fun to milk a cow and see production of alcohol, make your own chocolate, learn about all of the natural plants that they grow. People were so hospitable and we were actually in their home. If I could give this an extra star I would. We had multiple samples throughout our tour and then they made us a lunch from their homegrown farming products.

Each experience from identifying the various herbs and plants, to milking a cow and drinking the milk (with a little bit of distilled liquor), making chocolate, juicing sugar cane, feeding a goat, helping to prepare lunch was AMAZING AND FUN. We learned so much. Thank you

Great half-day, first with sloths and then visiting organic family farm - Jazmin (or Yazmin?) was an EXCELLENT tour guide, taking us first to the Sloth's Territory where we saw both two- and three-toed sloths, including a mother with baby. Then she took us to the small farm of a captivating family living off the land, growing organic food and operating a small dairy. One of the daughters of the family showed us through the farm, then had us milk a cow, crush sugar cane and grind chocolate to make a beverage and then some handmade chocolates. And the patriarch of the family demonstrated his still and gave us a small taste of the moonshine, followed by a traditional Costa Rican lunch. We were super lucky to be the only people who signed up for this tour, having Jazmin and her driver all to ourselves. Jazmin was a great tour guide, and the farm tour was an unexpected favorite of our whole time in Costa Rica.
