• Original Arenal ATV - The adventure kicks off on a private farm nestled in the rainforest. Participants will navigate through waterholes, experience volcanic mud from a stream, enjoy the scenic views, and with a bit of luck, encounter Watusi bulls and various tropical birds.

This quaint community provides visitors with an insight into the genuine rural lifestyle of the area. Featuring a modest yet charming church and a traditional pulpería (local store), La Guaria embodies the simplicity and warmth of Costa Rican culture.

The journey kicks off at the private farm, La Naciente, just a short distance from La Fortuna’s downtown area. The adventure begins with a trek on muddy paths through the primary rainforest. Participants receive a safety briefing and practice on a circuit to become familiar with the ATVs. The group then ventures onto the thrilling trails of La Naciente, navigating challenging routes surrounded by lush greenery and local wildlife. A stop is made at Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River, known for its water supply and the impressive Watusi bulls, recognized for their unique horns.

The next destination is the charming village of La Guaria, which preserves the “fortuneños” culture. Here, visitors explore the church and an old local store (pulpería). The journey continues along open trails, crossing natural puddles, until reaching the Arenal River, where there is a pause to take photos and appreciate the scenery.

On the return trip, a stop is made at Rancho La Poza for a snack and some relaxation in its outdoor pool.

• The minimum age to drive an ATV is 14. Children under 14 must ride as passengers in a double ATV with an adult.
• It is required to wear closed shoes for the activity.
• We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a change of clothes if needed.
• The arrival at the river may be hindered by weather conditions, in which case this part will be skipped, and an alternative trail will be followed.
• Regular rain in La Fortuna is not a reason to cancel the tour, as it is part of the tropical rainforest experience.
• In case of thunderstorms, we will wait up to 30 minutes after the scheduled tour time, since they usually last between 15 and 30 minutes. If conditions do not improve after this period, the activity will be modified or canceled.
• For scheduled pick-ups, we kindly ask you to be ready at the agreed time. We can wait up to 5 minutes, and after that, the reservation will be marked as a no-show and the full amount will apply.
