Great for chocolate fans - I love chocolate and this tour was fabulous. We learned a lot about the history of chocolate and how it is grown and produced. We also got to taste it at all stages - sugar is important! It was a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

The rainforest chocolate... - The rainforest chocolate tour was amazing! I learned so much about the process of making chocolate. It was fascinating to be able to try the cacao beans in all the different stages from raw, to roasted, to ground up with sugar added. The tour guides did a wonderful job of explaining the history of cacao in Central America and explaining and demonstrating how the beans are processed. And, of course, I loved that we were allowed to eat so much chocolate! I definitely recommend the sea salt with the chocolate and I highly recommend this tour. It was fun and informative.

Hands Down Best Tour in La Fortuna - This was hands down my favorite tour in Costa Rica. The guide was funny, knowledgable, and entertaining. We learned so much about the making of chocolate and saw every step. Loved the interactive parts. Chocolate tasting at the end was so fun. Would highly recommend. It is just minutes from downtown La Fortuna. My kids are 9 and 10 and they loved it.

Lots of Information, Participation, and Sampling! - Tatiana was a fantastic guide on this experience! We experienced every stage of the chocolate making process, from the tiny flower to the final delicious product. Tatiana made sure each guest was comfortable and answered every question with ease. She encouraged participation in the breaking of the cocoa pod, the separation of the hull from the bean, and even the grinding of the roasted beans with sugar. There were unlimited samples of cups of the warm chocolate beverage (with added spices as requested) and spoons of melted chocolate (with added spices and toppings). This was a great way to spend a few rainy hours in Costa Rica!

So much chocolatey fun for kids and adults! - Gexel was an incredible tour guide—funny, engaging, informative—and really made the chocolate tour a highlight of our entire trip. I love how they have the tour laid out so you get to taste and experience the cacao at each stage of its processing. And of course we all especially enjoyed the hot cocoa and melted chocolate (w/ toppings) tastings. My kids went through the line 3x before we had to cut them off! :) An extra bonus of the tour was seeing monkeys, toucans, poisonous caterpillars, and wild turkeys in the rainforest surrounding the cacao trees. Thank you, Gexel, for such an educational and super fun experience!

Very informative - It was nice to see the chocolate process and we really enjoyed the samples. We didn't find the sloth, but we did see an agouti.

I do not recommend this location. - I am eating this location a 1 star out of 5. I was very appalled by the disrespect shown by the staff even though I was not the customer that the staff member disrespected. A staff member mentioned to use the bug sprain in the bathroom. Another staff member through a tantrum not once but two times shouting that the bug spray should not be used inside the location. There are better ways to address issues and that was the incorrect way. I do not recommend this location. That tantrum made by the staff member left a distaste in my mouth and I did not enjoy the tour even though I was not the one the tantrum was thrown at.
