A village tour to remember! - Although it was extremely hot, Erick did a great job being our tour guide. He provided umbrellas, hand towels and water. The food was absolutely to die for! You must try the fried fish with coconut sauce. My only gripe was they didn’t take us to the different murals such as the I love being black.

It’s Worth It. - Wonderful experience, my family and I enjoyed learning about the culture/history. I will definitely recommend.

A bit of Africa in Colombia - Our tour to Palenque. I truly enjoyed this tour. It was a 1 1/2hr beautiful drive into the mountains. For anyone who's interested in the history, read below 👇🏿: San Basilio de Palenque is a historic Afro-Colombian village, located along the north coast of Colombia known as Cartagena, Colombia. It is renowned as the first free African town in the Americas, founded by escaped slaves in the 16th century. In the early 1600s, a group of enslaved Africans led by Benkos Bioho escaped from their Spanish captors in Cartagena, fled and sought refuge in the mountains, jungles, and territories surrounding Cartagena. After resisting many attempts to be recaptured, through acts of resistance, they were finally granted independence in 1713, making Palenque the first free African town in the Americas. Current population is roughly 4K Palenque people.

Good experience would recommend - Great tour. Erik was a great host and tour guide. Would recommend doing if you are visiting Cartagena.

Palenque Tour - At first, the meeting point for pick up was confusing but my tour guide contacted me to get my location and I was picked up. My experience was unique and this was the highlight of my trip during my visit to Cartagena. I learned their history, language, music, and ate some lunch. Locals are friendly and welcoming.

Eric was an amazing tour guide - Eric was an amazing tour guide. He took his time showing us his town , the people, the music, the culture and the food. This is an excursion you should not miss visiting Colombia.

A must try! - Out of all your searching as to which Palenque tour to commit to this is the one! Edwin was a great local guide and it was a pleasure to meet him and some of the other members of Kombilesami. Definitely reccommend buying some more passion fruit rum they offer and the tilapia fish for the meal. 10/10. Make sure to bring some cash tip money!

Great - Tour was great and a must do while visiting Cartagena. So much history to learn and very educational. Our guide Lorenso was awesome. We really enjoyed our tour. More than we expected.

Rich in culture - Very informative, full of culture, and good food! Everyone was so kind! They've done an amazing job preserving their culture. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, wear a hat, and bring a fan if you can! We visited during July and it was HOT!!!!!
