Highly Recommended - This was fascinating even though it was miserably hot. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the missions were very special, ranging from the larger missions to the two smaller ones. All are still active Catholic churches. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour! Learned SO much! - Our driver/tour guide Domingo was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Spanish missions. He was patient with my questions & helpful with my husband who walks with a cane. He explained how different cultures blended together in south Texas (like German & French) which we didn't know anything about! As well as where some common product names come from that we are familiar with, Valero, for instance. I'll let him tell you about it! We had lots of time to explore each Mission and learned a lot. For us this was the perfect length, without being too long. We saw the Almo on our own already. I was born & raised in Canada & am 3rd generation indigenous. Growing up we studied the explorers of our country so it was very interesting & fascinating to connect this knowledge. Domingo isn't just a tour guide/driver, he has a degree in history. Proving this company hires the best! He also is a Texas native so this is a bonus! He not only knows the history & the area but it was evident that he loves it as well! It isn't just a job for him. This really makes a difference in a good a tour. We highly recommend seeing the Missions. There are restrooms & visitor centers & gift shops in all but the last one but they are disguised or far enough away to not destroy the integrity of the original buildings, but are air conditioned so you can cool off or buy a cold drink if needed. One has a theater that shows a video, its only 10 minutes & very well done. Its worth watching. The Riverwalk is great! But if you want to know why it is important & learn more about the history of south Texas and our amazing melting pot of the United States of America, then take a tour of the Spanish Missions.
