Nancy the Premier Tour Guide - Our first tour guide got another assignment and scheduled Nancy Rios to be our guide. In many ways, we believe we got the luck of the draw as her knowledge was extensive, her enthusiasm energizing, and her performance well beyond our expectations! It was an incredible experience!

Great time - First time in San Antonio it was a good experience Alfred. The tour guide was great. I think they could’ve left out the towers the American towers because it just wasn’t worth it.

It is a good tour, but... - It is a good tour, but too much time is spent in the sun. Take two tours instead in the summer months. The Churches were beautiful and the Alamo is fascinating. Great volunteers inside.

Waste of money - David should not be a tour guide. Despite confirming our hotel for pick up two days in advance and receiving confirmation from the company, he turned up 45 minutes late with another couple still to be picked up. He didn’t offer an apology or explanation for the delay but instead suggested we were lucky to have him as a guide as he is the “boss of the company”, “doesnt normally do this” and is really an “actor”. During the ‘tour’ there was very limited commentary/knowledge shared on locations, and when travelling from location to location he just had the radio on? He didn’t come prepared and was short on admission tickets for the number of us on the tour, surely that would be something to check in advance? On multiple occasions when arriving at a location he gave a very lack lustre intro of what the area was, then would spend the rest of the time on his phone, showing no interest. When an older woman who was travelling solo asked him which attraction we were going to next, his reply was “to a place where we can meet as many homeless people as we can”, bizzare! We were told we had 45 mins to walk around the Alamo ourselves (?!) and when the tour group met back at the meeting point on time he proceeded to be 15 minutes late himself. One member of the tour had texted him to ask where he was but never got a reply. We were also given 20mins at the tower of the Americas, but with the single lift being so slow, we got more like 5 mins to take in the view before having to rush back down. I cannot speak for the other tour guides, but this was the worst tour I have ever experienced. The value of admission tickets for the tower of Americas and River Cruise are around $40 in total, nothing special just the same admission you can buy publicly. You also have to queue up with the normal admission lines. Therefore you’re basically paying $100+ each for a mediocre Uber driver. Save your money and time, and just book these attractions yourself.
