- Saint Daniel’s Tomb - Known to Muslims as the Mausoleum of Khoja Daniyar, to Christians as the tomb of the biblical prophet Daniel, and to Jews as the resting place of one of their four great prophets, this site is located by the Siab River, amidst the Afrosiab hills. This remarkable location, where tranquility and deep faith prevail, is revered as a holy burial site, though debates continue about whose remains are truly interred here.
- Ulugh Beg Observatory - Commissioned by Amir Timur’s grandson, Muhammad Taragay, also known as Ulugbek, this observatory is notable for the creation of “Ziji Jadidi Guragani” or “New Guragan astronomical tables,” Ulugbek’s principal scientific work, which was developed through research conducted here.
- Samarkand Bukhara Silk Carpets Factory - At the Samarkand Bukhara Silk Carpets Factory, visitors can witness the creation of authentic Samarkand silk carpets. Established in 1992 to revive traditional methods, the workshop produces approximately 400 handmade carpets annually.
- Church Of St. Alexius Metropolitan Of Moscow - Constructed between 1909 and 1911 in Samarkand, the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Alexis of Moscow was designed by military engineer F.V. Smirnov as the city’s primary military cathedral. It was consecrated in 1912 in honor of St. Alexis, the miracle worker, and its design became a model for military churches in Turkestan.
- Tourist Village - Konigil - Located in an ecologically pristine area along the ancient Siab canal, this ethnic village offers a glimpse into the life of a traditional Uzbek village. A key attraction is the workshop where traditional Samarkand silk paper is handcrafted using revived ancient techniques.
- Museum of Wine-Making named after Khovrenko - For those interested, the Khovrenko Winery, the oldest wine factory in Central Asia, is worth a visit. The tasting room is housed in a historic late 19th-century building, originally the home of Russian merchant Filatov, who established Uzbekistan’s first winery in 1868.
