Fantastic Tour to Salinas Grandes - This is a wonderful tour! Our guide, Raul, is a superb guide and driver. After being picked up at our hotel, Raul drove us through the most stunning scenery to the Salinas Salt Flats. On the way, we admired blooming cacti and other fauna up close, visited an old railroad station build by a British engineer, explored a small bur fascinating museum holding an amazing number of artifacts from the ruins of Tastil, and observed small herds of guanacos. Seeing the Salinas Grandes was an amazing experience. A vast landscape of pure white reminiscent of a frozen lake. The drive back was equally spectacular. We ascended to a height of 4020 meters above sea level with spectacular views of the Andean landscape before descending to the mountain town of Purmamaca which is located next to the Hill of Seven Colors. On the way back to Salta, Raul took us through the nearby rainforest. The tour was 12 hour long but definitely worth every minute!

A unique experience - Highly recommend this tour. We took a risk booking, as there wasn’t much information online, but I’m really happy we did. We were picked up from our hotel in Salta in a nice, leather seated pickup truck, and it was just me and my husband, one other traveler, and the guide, Lucas. Lucas speaks really great English, has a lovely personality, is very knowledgeable about the area, and really cares about his work in the tourism industry. We drive through the Andes mountains and made stops at Santa Rosa de Tastil, San Antonio de los Cobres for a snack and drink break at a hotel, Salinas Grandes, a fancy hotel for lunch outside Purmamarca square, and in Purmamarca, before heading back to Salta. There were ample water bottles for us in the car, but food and drink we covered ourselves. It’s quite a bit of driving in between the stops, and the road is quite bumpy and winding at parts, so if you get motion sickness, maybe think about forgoing this excursion. Otherwise, I think it’s very good value because it’s a lot of driving to do yourself and it’s nice to be able to doze off at parts while trusty Lucas helms the car! We are so happy we met Lucas and had him as our guide!

In love with Las Salinas - How can I describe the amazing landscapes that Jujuy has. I had the opportunity to visit "Las Salinas" in 2019. It was a long and hard road but it definitely worth it. I went with my family and some friends that live in San Salvador de Jujuy, since we are in love with their province they have been our tourist guides. I would strongly recommend a Coke tea time with nothing but oxygen to accompany if you don't want feel your stomach like a washing machine during the trip. It needs to be undestood that your the final destination is 4000 metres above the sea level, approximately. Another thing that you should take with you are some sunglasses because the environment is covered in salt, which is white in color and bounces off the sun's rays in a way that will disturb your eyesight. Las Salinas are just a quearter part of the beauties that this Argentinian place has.

The day was long but worth it... -
The day was long but worth it! Seeing the salt flats was by far the highlight! Seeing the vast changes in scenery was amazing! The driver was very professional and did a really good job driving the very windy roads while our guide did a great job dealing with everyones personalities and always knew the answers to the many questions that came her way! One thing to know, take cash! The small towns we went to do not take credit cards. Argentine pesos only!!!
