Colonial Beauty - Salta is a very beautiful city, it preserves its colonial architecture, and in very good condition. White walls, red roofs that coexist with modern buildings in its urban space. Green spaces with history too, like San MartĆn Park. Monuments, buildings, churches, museums, etc... everything that tells you about the life of a 441-year-old city, one of the oldest in the country. I recommend you go to the tourist information office of the city, they give you brochures, maps and give you a lot of necessary information. www.saltaciudad.travel, [email protected] 08007770300. refusal to refund the payment when english speaking guide was demanded in application form - Please be careful when you book a city trip in Salta with Nordic Travel with with English guide! Hereby our disappointing experience! We booked the trip on the basis of an English tour guide as no one of our group understands or speaks Spanish. In the application form we crossed ā€œEnglishā€ as the language accordingly. We arrived late on November 25 in our hotel in Salta and had no access to internet the day before as we travelled in areas not covered by internet. On Sunday November 26 at 9.45, we met the guide who could hardly understand English. When he spoke, it was almost impossible to understand him. We told the guide that we wanted to cancel the trip in view of the language issue, he understood but said that he was not in a position to decide this and called his supervisor to discuss. As the communication went very difficult, he proposed us to speak with his supervisor who said that the prepayment was not reimbursable. The supervisor proposed to have someone to translate the guideā€™s explanation on a remote basis. We found this proposal not workable. The translator would have to listen to the guide from his office, translate it to us by phone and one of us would then have to share the information to the 8 people during 3 hours. As experienced travelers, we concluded that most of the explanation would be lost in translation and in the subsequent summarize made by one of us). In addition, this would be very disturbing to all the other tour Spanish speaking tour guests.in the bus. So we kindly declined the offer and asked for reimbursement which the supervisor refused to do invoking the cancellation policies (no refunds are issued, as they do not promise guides in English and that they confirm the day before each service as this is subject to availability). Very unfair treatment and likely illegal! Fernand Nedee
