Highlights

Get a convenient pickup service by songtaew (a passenger vehicle in Thailand) from your hotel along the main road between Saladan and Kantiang Bay.

Start the course with a welcome drink and get useful cooking instructions from the Thai chef. Learn how to cook healthy and delicious Thai food with a practical hands-on approach to surprise your family and friends at home as a gourmet souvenir from Thailand.

Two classes per day are held in a spacious teak-wood house just inland in the south of Phra Ae Beach, and many of the vegetables and spices are sourced from an on-site organic garden.

Midday and evening classes. You can choose 4 out of 10 dishes together, and the options change for each course. The menus offer a good mix of salads, soups, stir fries, noodle dishes and curries made from hand-made pastes, plus enjoy a feast of your own making at the end! All dishes can be made vegetarian per request, please let us know upon booking.

Lunch Course:

Choose 4 dishes out of:
• Tom Yam (chicken, seafood or prawns)
• Golden cup with chicken & vegetables.
• Phad Thai (chicken, seafood, prawns or tofu) with our special sauce
• Stir fried chicken or seafood with cashew nuts
• Green Curry with chicken or seafood including preparation of the paste
• Panang Curry with chicken including preparation of the paste
• Thai beef salad
• Fried rice with chicken or seafood
• Stir fried chicken or seafood with hot basil leaves
• Poached banana in coconut milk

Evening Course:

Choose 4 dishes out of:
• Chicken Satay including preparation peanut sauce
• Vegetarian Spring Rolls including preparation of tasty Thai sauce
• Golden Bag Thung Thong (chicken and prawn) including preparation tasty Thai sauce
• Papaya salad (Som Tam)
• Steamed fish fillet with lime and chilli
• Seafood in our special tamarind sauce
• Massaman Curry (beef or chicken) including preparation of the paste
• Lab with chicken or seafood (Thai spicy salad from Isan)
• Stir fried chicken or seafood sweet & sour
• Sticky rice with ripe Mango

Best cooking school, hilarious teacher! - The best cooking class! Our teacher was so funny and made the whole class a bundle of laughs. There was a large group with couples, a family and solo travellers. The class suited everyone. We picked four dishes to make as a group and were given a cook book to take home. As part of the class we went to the local market and collected the ingredients which was great! The dishes we made and ate throughout the class but there was so much food left over we took home the left overs of each course. Overall a great experience and way to spend the day. Would 100% recommend for anyone in Koh Lanta!

Absolutely brilliant - This was so much fun and so well organised and run! Booked tickets and then we were contacted by the cookery school to check for allergies and finalise collection. Picked up on time and straight to the cooking school. Prim was our cookery teacher and she was fabulous! Lots of tips on how to change our dishes to have them as we wanted as well as ingredients we could use at home if Thai ingredients are not available. The cook book is yours to keep which is brilliant. Cooked and ate our 4 dishes which were delicious - thanks to Prims expert guidance. Beer available to buy during the session. We could take our left over food away with us too. All in all, brilliantly well run, organised and taught. 100% recommended.

Great experience - We phoned around quite a few cookery schools and settled on this one as it was one of the only ones that would accept children. We were a group of five with three kids. The morning started with a short walk down to the local market to learn about the local produce and buy some bits. After that we made four dishes, of our choice from a larger selection, and all very tasty and easy to follow. The school also provided pick up and drop off from our accommodation with was very useful. Highly recommended.

Brilliant family cookery evening - I'm so pleased we chose Lanta Thai cookery school. Our family of 4, children aged 10 and 13 had the most fantastic time making 4 delicious dishes for dinner. The teaching is fun and accessible and the food is plentiful. We even took away a doggy bag! Everything is very clean and with a taxi provided from our hotel it was super easy. Drinks are available to purchase whilst you cook and eat and the proces are reasonable. Highly recommended and we can't wait to try the recipes at home from the cookbook we were given go takeaway.

An excellent, fun filled experience - An excellent morning. Lots of fun & learnt a lot. All 4 dishes were quick & easy to make & all tasted delicious- looking forward to making them at home . There was lots of food - the advice not to eat before we came was good but we couldn’t eat it all so our husbands benefited when we got back to our hotel with our leftovers - they also said they were delicious . Would definitely recommend.

A great experience for anyone who wants to think outside the box - Great location. Everything was perfectly organized and Aon, our Thai cooking teacher, taught us 4 very, very tasty dishes that were extremely tasty and can easily be recreated at home. Thank you for the great experience 😍👍👍

Amazing experience not to be missed - Lanta Thai cookery school was amazing experience. We went to evening class and had 4.5 hours there. It was great fun, we learned a lot and met some great people. Hats off to the instructors who were fab (just can’t recall the name - so sorry!) We cooked 4 dishes and tasted them all and had so much to eat we had to bring a takeaway with us. Cannot recommend enough fab experience! (And cheap beer!)
