If you can only see one museum in Normandy, make it this one. - There are so many museums in and around Normandy that it's hard to know which are worth seeing, and you can't see them all. This is by far the top of the list of the ones I saw—even though we were more interested in the sea landings due to family history, this turned out to be the most moving, unsensational, informative, and immersive museum we saw. It really gave a sense of the individuals involved and one part of the museum when you walk through a darkened plane and out the door that they'd jump from was very well done. This si a significant cut above the many museums with dated store mannequins in uniforms - they have spent a considerable about of effort to make the scenes realistic.

Worth a visit - Excellent museum- we spent 3 hours here - it is so informative and interesting- really worth a visit. My advice is to park in the main square by the famous church if you arrive early - 2 euros for 23 hours - then really easy to get coffee and lunch (Auberge John Steele recommended). Sainte Mere Eglise is a super little village.

Must do - To do absolutely. Really, really good. This transports us to the heart of war 39/45. I was touched by the video testimony of the inhabitants. He's awesome.

It came in. - The children 9 and 7 liked this activity, but it came in very hard especially in the hall where the parachutes jumped. My children look at the war differently again thanks to this museum

Exceptional Museum in St Mere Eglise - This is a really well executed museum, with a lot of information presented of both the military story and the local residents. Displays are top notch and they provide a tablet device that augments the experience. Highly recommend a multi-hour visit.

Magnificent museum full of history. - Magnificent museum full of history and very moving. The different stages are all as interesting as each other with magnificent reconstructions and period objects. Not to be missed during a stay in the region.

Pretty good - Lots to see here and although it wasn’t my favourite, it had some atmospheric displays - great for this who like an immersive experience. For example- flying over in preparation for the parachute drop. Some displays on how WWII is commemorated and the relationship between Eisenhower and De Gaulle. Nice to have a walk around the nearby town and church too.

Museum very good for families - Beautiful museum, varied and interactive. The kids and us too, we really liked the part that simulates when we are on the plane. To develop? Visitor Trip Tip: the site recommends 2h visit but 2h is too short to see and read everything. Besides our side, when we parked, we had to take a parking ticket, either 2h or 11h... So logically we took the 2:00 one. By the time we went to the bathroom outside the parking lot and then went to the museum and queued for tickets, we only had 1h30 to visit. It was a little frustrating to look at the time and hurry. We couldn't see everything. You know, the town hall should offer three-hour tickets instead.

Take a torch - Dark museum in places, making it hard to see exhibits clearly and indeed move around. Why are more and more museums not lighting their exhibits. Some interesting displays and others that I cannot review. Bus tours can make it very busy in places. Overall there are better D DAY Museums. The best lit place is the gift shop, I wonder why?
