Highlights
  • Pinneys Beach - Ital is Vital, so says the Rasta.

Rastafari is a spiritual and social movement born in the Caribbean Islands. Rastafarians highly revere their connection with mother nature and believe in receiving vitality by eating healthy fresh food straight from the earth.

Ital is organic, vegan, and gluten free, cooked traditionally in a clay “yabba” pot over an open fire. Fresh, local, ingredients such as breadfruit, green fig, sweet potatoes, tanyo, dasheen, beans, and lentils are slow cooked with fresh herbs and coconut milk made from scratch. Ital is served in a calabash (tropical guord) bowl with a coconut spoon.

Enjoy this unique, simple, Caribbean food while enjoying roots reggae music, and the relaxed, rustic surroundings of Ras Derrick’s lush beach garden. Enjoy the authentic cultural experience of eating clean and simple on the beach while getting to know the locals.

With advance reservation groups can can opt for an additional tasting of local bush (herbal) tea and medicinal plant juices, and can also request a sunset Yoga/Meditation session.

Beautiful people and a beautiful experience. - We met Amanda on Pinney's beach in front of Sunshine's Beach Bar and Grill (a must visit while on Nevis). She has an amazing vibe and invited us to her sunset beach yoga followed by an authentic Rastafarian meal prepared by her husband Derek in clay pots right on the beach. How could we resist? AMAZING experience from beginning to end, it's difficult to put into words. Yoga class was meditative and reflective, my husband and I were so relaxed by the end we could have fallen asleep on the beach watching the sun disappear behind the ocean. Derek prepared Ital stew with local breadfruit, it was outstanding!!! Delicious, healthy and filling. Beautiful people and a beautiful experience. Jennifer and Eric

Wonderful week of yoga and meditation! - We had a group of 7 people book for a week of daily yoga and meditation with Amanda at SoulScuba. But we got so much more! Each day started with a morning yoga session just a few feet walk from our beach-front cottages. A Wonderful way to start your day and work up an appetite for our big breakfast where Amanda would help us decide what we wanted to do for the day. She then escorted us in a van all over the island all week for various amazing island experiences including a hike up to the water falls, botanical garden tour and lunch, meditation and yoga in the hot springs, and a special night of Ital dinner after our sunset yoga on Pinney Beach. We did not do the dive options on this trip, but hope to on our next trip! Amanda provided an amazing experience with personalized touches every step of the way on the beautiful, friendly, and rustic little island of Nevis. We had an amazing time and hope to come back!

An amazing experience run by an amazing person! - Imagine moving in to a new neighborhood and you meet a couple of the most pleasant, kind, and overall amazing people. Then these people take you around and show you all the beautiful places, and introduce you to even more amazing people. That's what our trip to St Kitts/Nevis was like with Amanda & Derek from Soul Scuba. We got to see the best of both islands - above and below the surface. Everyone we met along the way was friendly and welcoming. Nevis is such a peaceful place. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship traffic with a history going back in to the days of pirates! I had never done yoga on a beach before. Amanda is a great (and extremely patient) instructor. Ever try laughter yoga?
