Best Tour from Quebec City - Excellent tour. Celine was very knowledgeable and clear about the several food stops in a beautiful country side environment. We were also lucky that weather was perfect. I have taken this tour more than once when I visit Quebec because it is wonderful fun.

Definitely one to do! - Great trip - Celine, our multi lingual, multi talented and very lovely guide was the perfect host. The producers we visited were very interesting and generous with their samples! Would definitely recommend, if I had time I would have stayed longer on the Island itself, it’s beautiful

Small tastes made big memories - The Island's history was fascinating and the guide was personable, funny and accommodating. He took time to chat with everyone as we waited for the trip to start. The family owned/ran businesses on the island are very passionate about their crops and the finished products. They were welcoming and helpful. Who knew tasting vinegar would be enjoyable! Found out my spouse & I have very different ideas on cider. That little bites of nougat could be so tasty!

Mixed bag, but overall good - Tour guide/driver was very enthusiastic and really put in the effort. The island itself (in mid-May at least) is not that picturesque, and there didn't seem to be a lot to say about it (when the guide is pointing out the tennis courts and hardware store...well...). The tour stops were a mixed bag. This definitely is not a food tour. The vinegar maker 1st stop was a miss unfortunately. The people were lovely and explained the process well but a 2-3 drops of a few vinegars straight from an eyedropper onto a tiny spoon was disappointing. The 2d stop--Domaine St-Famille--was an A+. Wooden table/benches, 4 real tastes in glasses of their ciders/wines, great proprietor presentation. Bought a bottle there. 3rd stop (another cider/alcohol producer) was good, very tiny tastes but proprietor offered additional tastes as requested, was friendly and answered questions well. All standing up in a bit of a cluster though so felt awkward. 4th stop--candy shop--mixed feelings. Presentation was a movie, not personal. Small, but decent taste of some of the candies (would have loved to taste the meringue but not offered). A little reluctance to offer additional taste if you wanted to resample anything. The candy itself was very good so if you like candy, you'll enjoy the selection and the homemade process, and probably buy some. All that said, we had fun on the tour and don't regret doing it. Was particularly good as a rainy day activity. I just expected more of a "tasting" experience and it ended up feeling more like some quick tourist stops where you could buy things, the Domaine St-Famille being the exception (well-done).

Good Overview of Orleans Island - We visited a vinegar farm, a winery, an apple cider shop and a nougat candy shop. In terms of seeing actual production, the vinegar and apple cider shop came closest, but all stops featured mostly retail outlets. The winery was very generous in portions. As a suggestion, a visit to more of a production site, like a sugar shack or a fromagerie would have been interesting.

Comfortable Tour, Great guide, Great Winery Stop, But Poor Value Overall - I recently went on the Île d’Orléans Taste and Drink tour in Quebec City and had mixed feelings overall. The tour guide, who was also the bus driver, was fun, engaging, and provided an enjoyable brief history of the island throughout the drive. The bus itself was clean and comfortable, which made for a pleasant experience getting between stops.
Unfortunately, most of the stops felt underwhelming and very disproportionate to the cost of the tour. The first stop, a vinegar-making location, had a beautiful property and a welcoming owner, but the tasting itself was almost laughably small — literally two drops each of three vinegars. Considering the price of the tour and the number of purchases clearly generated from tour groups, it felt a bit insulting as a “sample.” I would not recommend continuing this as a paid stop unless more substantial tastings are offered.
The winery was by far the highlight of the tour. The wines were enjoyable, and unlike the other stops, guests actually received a reasonable tasting portion of each of the four wines. The family working there was friendly, and the fresh baguettes available for purchase alongside glasses or bottles of wine made this stop feel worthwhile and memorable.
The cider house was another decent stop, offering several interesting products to sample. While the portions were still small, at least there was some variety and a chance to properly try different items.
The final stop at the nougat factory was disappointing. Although the informational video was interesting, the experience felt impersonal since there was no interaction with any workers. Once again, the samples were extremely tiny slivers of four products.
Overall, it felt like the businesses benefited tremendously from the volume of purchases generated by the tours while offering very little in return to guests. The tour pricing should be far more transparent that you are primarily paying for transportation around the island, rather than suggesting the “cost of entry” and tastings are meaningfully included. Aside from the winery, the tastings were so minimal they barely qualified as part of the experience.
In the end, I would not recommend this tour at its current price point. However, if the cost were reduced and the company clearly marketed the experience as transportation with optional shopping stops rather than inclusive tastings, I would view it much more favorably.
