Duration: 4 hours

Highlights
  • St-Paul-de-Vence - Visit the second-most visited village in France. This medieval “cité” is world-famous amongst artists. Discover the passageways frequented by the likes of Picasso, Renoir, Folon and (most famously) Chagall. Find traces of these artists in the many art galleries of the village, or enjoy the sights as you stroll along the ramparts built to protect the residents of old.
  • Vignoble Rasse - At the feet of the rock that dominates the medieval village of St-Jeannet, discover a vineyard using a rather unusual - but wholly traditional - wine fermentation process: ageing wine in the sun. Learn about the fermentation process and about the history of rosé - the wines that originally came from this part of Provence - as you enjoy tasting the wines offered by your host.

Fabulous Day Out - Highly recommend this trip. Alex our tour guide was very well presented, friendly, polite, professional, full of local information, and fun to travel with. He arrived on time and his vehicle was spotless. Our wine tasting host was super welcoming, very informative, we tasted 8 varieties of wine in a beautiful picturesque setting.

Beautiful tour and very nice host/driver - I wasn't sure what to expect, but this tour was marvelous. The drive itself to the winery was lovely and then the winery...oh my! Just as beautiful as in movies. Great wine tasting and friendly hosts. The driver/host gave us ample time there and also in Vence. I highly recommend this tour. Well worth your time and money.

Over too quick! - Alesandro was a great tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and funny. Saint Paul de Vance was stunning and the winery was on a beautiful hill. The wine was wonderful and the people were very friendly. The only thing I wish they would do is give more time at both palaces. We were only at each place about 45 minutes which just isn’t enough time.

Enjoy the Vineyard wine tasting! - We really enjoyed the wine tasting at the vineyard. Our host was friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and made it a fun experience. We also thoroughly enjoyed the walk through St.Paul de Vence….would have liked more time there. I was disappointed that our tour did not have us on the list that day even though I received an email confirmation and a text day prior. Driver had to turn around and pick us up late which shortened our time.

Great half day tour in south France! - We really enjoyed this half day tour! Loved that it wasn’t a full day time commitment and not far from Nice, where we stayed. Our driver was funny and knowledgeable and pointed out things and explained to us along the way! The vineyard itself was absolutely gorgeous. Our taste guide was so knowledgeable as well! My only wish was for a little heavier pours, especially because there were some delicious wines. Exploring Saint Paul De Vence after was a cherry on top!

Destinations great but driver did not guide anything - This is about a 5 hour trip from Nice out to St.Paul de Vence village and then ending in a wine tasting visit to a vineyard. While this was an enjoyable trip it is a bit misleading. The driver picks you up at your hotel in Nice. There may be multiple stops along the way to pick up others. After everyone is loaded it is a trip off to St. Paul de Vence village. This is a medieval village that is absolutely gorgeous to walk around in. The views are breathtaking indeed. The issue is that the trip talks about a "guide", but this person driving you does not accompany you into the village. You are dropped off at the entrance where there is a map of the village and told you have an hour to spend there. And that's it. Our driver only talked to the two people sitting next to her in the van and not to the rest of the participants other than maybe once or twice asking a brief question. So you aren't provided any information or help getting around the village. After visiting the village it is a twisty drive up to the vineyard. Again the views are incredible but there is minimal to no commentary from the driver about what you are seeing. Once arriving at the vineyard you sit on their deck with a great view of the surrounding area and the owner gives a very interesting presentation to you about the history of the vineyard and the wines you are tasting. Now personally I found this fascinating and enjoyable sitting and sipping wine. But if you are hoping for a tour of the vineyard or the wine making process that is NOT part of this excursion. So you need to set your expectations properly. The wines were not personally my style but the only way you know this is to taste them, so I was perfectly happy with the visit to the vineyard. Again though your driver does not join you after delivering you to the vineyard. Once the vineyard visit is over you are delivered back to your hotel. I think the price charged for basically just a ride is very high. If this was a guided tour that would be different but it is not. Our driver also did not seem to know the way very well and was following another driver who also made mistakes in their driving. We had to turn around twice as both drivers were going the wrong way. While the driver was certainly a pleasant person and professionally mannered this tour was not worth the money.

Expected better - Martina, our guide, was very nice and shared her knowledge of the area with us. What was disappointing was the wine. This is France and I expected better wine than was presented. The person presenting the wines gave us some details on how the wine is made but I’ve never had several wines poured in the same glass one after the other with at least rinsing the glass with water first or giving you another glass. I’d think twice before taking this tour.

Great tour guide, spoilt by lacklustre vineyard experience. - A big shout out to our tour guide and driver Martina. She was fantastic. She collected us in a shared mini bus from the hotel on time and was very knowledgeable of the whole area and talked to us all continuously. The first part was the wine tasting tour. It was a beautiful spot and we were met by our Madame host and co-owner from the vineyard who was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were combined with a second group on arrival, so not quite as focussed as we had hoped. To begin with it was very interesting but unfortunately the host spent way too much time talking. The pours were literally about 15ml each - a thimble full. There were 6 wines in total. We weren’t there to consume large amounts of wine but we felt it was very stingy compared with other similar events we have been on. We were sat down there for about 90 mins or so and no tour of the vineyard. We spoke to another member of the group and they also felt the same as us. After the wine tour we stopped off for 45 mins at a lovely village called St Paul’s De Vence and this was the highlight of the trip. Beautiful place. Martina dropped us all off on the return safely and with a smile. The lower rating is purely down to the wine tasting part being very lacklustre.
