After a brief introduction, you will be taken 2km down to Cat Cat’s road, a well-known village of the Hmong minority. From there, you will reach the hanging bridge of the Muong Hoa river and then continue uphill into the mountains and through a bamboo forest.

You will then head down to Y Linh Ho village and have lunch at a small, traditional restaurant run by a local Hmong family.

Ta Van Village - After the break, you will make your way to Ta Van, a village of the famous Giay minority, where your local host family will welcome you. You will then have some time to rest, take a hot shower, and get ready for your dinner – if you want, you will also have the chance to take part in an informal cooking class!

Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan -Ban Ho – Homestay (18 km or 6.30 hours)

Giang Ta Chai Village - Enjoy a cup of hot coffee or tea and explore your homestay’s surrounding area and the nearby rice fields. After breakfast, you will be taken uphill into the mountain until you reach the waterfalls of Giang Ta Chai. You will then enter the Red Dao area where, together with your local guide, you will learn more about their culture and daily life. After a short visit with a Red Dao family, you will head back to the waterfalls by taking an alternative trail and crossing a second hanging bridge. You will then have lunch in Giang Ta Chai village at a small, local restaurant run by a Hmong family. After the break, our bus will be waiting for you, and you will head back to Sapa Town.

Ban Ho Village - After the break, we will make our way to Su Pan, a community of the Black Hmong minority. Then we will continue walking to Ban Ho village, where you will meet three ethnic minorities: Red Dao, Tay, and Black Hmong. A Tay family will welcome us to their home. You will then have time to rest, take a hot shower, and wait for your dinner.

MUST DO! Amazing hike and a great challenge. - Exceptional 3 day trek with Tong around Sa Pa and its surrounding villages. It was a real pleasure to be integrated with her family and tribes people with trying on their clothing, learning some of their cultural ways and being embraced with only joy and happiness. The homestay’s were also so neat and tidy, showers were excellent and food was delicious and abundant (definitely none of us were hungry at any point!). I would highly recommend anyone to do this trip and if you are to select the more challenging walk, be ready to be ascending and descending a lot.

3 D 2 N homestay trek - Highly recommend this tour company. We did the 3D 2N Sapa Valley Trek and homestay experience. We were the only ones who booked so ended up getting a private tour, though we met plenty of travellers on the way! Our guide, Xu, was amazing. She was a wealth of knowledge and taught us about the day to day life of the local villagers. She was so kind and patient and always gave us options to go the easy or harder way. I did not bring a hat and she kindly went to her sisters village and borrowed one fof me. We saw amazing rice fields, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, animals (cow, buffalo, chicken, ducks), met many locals (and their children) and the homestays and meals were above our expectations. The weather was amazing for rainy season, though im sure Xu would have thought of alternate routes for us if it did rain. The actual tour company had excellent communication, highly organized, and helped us book trains to and from. They had many tips for us. We were able to shower at the office after our trek and before a long ride back to Hanoi. Overall very pleased with our once in a life time experience.

Wonderful experiebxe - We were lucky enough to have Zhu as our guide. She is very patient and very kind, knowing the area very well (although we chose the less frequented one). her explanations of local life and traditions were a delight. The evenings spent with local people were a real immersion into the heart of their families (a small dedication to Mary Kay, who, at 5 years old, brightened up our evening). The scenery is fantastic, and despite the bad weather on the last day, it didn't dampen our spirits or our enjoyment of the walk between Laos and China. The little shower on the way back to Sapa was welcome and absolutely necessary. Finally, beware: this 3-day/2-night trip is pretty sporty, as it goes up and down.

Taste of local life - We had an amazing time on this trek. We felt like we got a really good taste of local life by walking through different villages, rice fields, bamboo forests, staying and eating with local families at homestays and watching them prepare and cook delicious food on a bamboo fire. Our guide Xay was really knowledgeable and we learnt so many things from her. The weather wasn’t the best during our trek but it didn’t take away from our wonderful experience and when the clouds did lift, it made the views even more special. Definitely recommend!

Amazing trekking & homestay experience in Sapa - We just completed this amazing 3D 2N Trek and home stay in and around Sapa. Our guide Dong, was so friendly, knowledgable and accomodating, always providing options for easier or harder pathways along the trek and proudly sharing the customs and history of her her own and other ethnic minorities from the villages we passed through. The home stay accommodation and meals were great. The trekking itself is challenging at times, but so worth the effort to get away from the general tourist path and venture through bamboo forests, crossing streams and balancing across muddy rice field terraces, not to mention so many animal encounters including water buffalo, sooo many chickens and even a herd of goats! Some tips: wear trekking shoes with good grip, bring a poncho, definitely wear sunscreen and insect repellant, buy extra water at lunch and over night, and bring little snacks for later at night as you end up in your room quite early after dinner.

Amazing tour with Ly - Did the trek with Ly as guide. She was really good in explaining the different cultures that live in harmony across the mountains close to Sapa. We did almost 40km in the three days and I was able to taste different foods and enjoy the landscape. Ly was also super helpful with logistics! Super recommend the tour with Ly!

Amazing Trek through Sapa with Homestay - The tour was amazing! We would not have been able to navigate our own way without the local guides. They took us off the road and through the rice fields and mountains. Ly and Pang were absolutely the best!! They were our guides and they have very big hearts and were so helpful the entire time. We felt safe and very grateful for there help in exploring this beautiful region of Vietnam.
