An amazing experience - This was one of the most amazing experiences especially with May our guide who took us to her village for lunch and to her home. She was so friendly and shared her way of life with us. Even with the rainy conditions the scenery is breathtaking taking. It was great to be in the jeep (with cover on in the rain) and not on bikes or walking. Definitely recommend this tour

Highly recommend this tour - Tamay was my tour guide for this trip and did an awesome job. She customized the experience for me and asked my opinion on where to go. She waited for me to get done with submitting Fansipan even though it wasn’t part of the scheduled tour to make sure I got back into town. The Jeep ride was also great with amazing views. Highly recommend.

Great family activity - Our family of 10 had a great experience. May, our guide, was a local that shared her first hand experience living in the area and was very knowledgeable. Our drivers Duy and Ien made the jeep ride very enjoyable and safe. They were quick to put up the soft top of the jeep when it started to rain. Great tour!

A landscape you can only appreciate in person - What a treat! I’m an American born Vietnamese and I’ve only really experienced HCMC and Hanoi. The true beauty is in the countryside of Vietnam. This was a hidden gym and May really made the experience something to remember. She always made sure we were enjoying ourselves and going the extra mile. We took a train from Hanoi to Sapa where May met our party of 10. 4 kids, 6 adults (2 grandparents) We had an age range of 8yo - 79yo and everyone enjoyed the sites. So we had 2 jeeps. Our drivers Duy and Ien, were also friendly and easy to converse with as we drove through Sapa. I really enjoy creating friendships with our guides, it makes it more enjoyable than just hiring a service and spend the day as a client/customer transaction. The jeep really gave us access to areas that would have otherwise been difficult to access unless you trekked. The views were amazing and the lessons we learned along the way about the different tribes within Sapa. Being able to stand up with the jeeps top off gave us a cool perspective of the valley while we were in the go. May also invited us into her home and shared with us a bit of her life. May also allowed us to gauge our own pace and adjusted as needed. After lunch, we had a little time for an herbal bath to decompress a bit from the long drive. Even treated our drivers to herbal bath to boost their bodies from sitting and driving all day. We lucked out, the clouds were above us so it was cooler most of our trip, but as the sun burned through it can get hot. I would highly recommend a sun hat, sunblock, sunglasses and maybe a cooling towel.

What a Day! Full Day Sapa Jeep Off the Beaten Track Tour - What an incredible adventure we’ve had with our guide May Pet today. Collected from our hotel in an original Jeep expertly and safely driven by Ngoc we were able to experience a truly authentic side of Vietnam that offered genuine insight into the every day lives of some of the ethnic minority groups. We explored the countryside surrounding Sapa, had the opportunity to see rice terraces, cacao, corn, and cabbage growing. We saw buffalo wandering, chickens with their chicks scratching around and even a couple of pigs! Photo opportunities galore. May is a joy to be around, her command of the English language made communication simple and sincere and to learn that she is self taught is nothing short of impressive. She is clearly proud of her Red Dao culture and it was fascinating to learn about their traditions and way of life. One of the most memorable experiences was being invited into May’s home to join her extended family for a home cooked lunch prepared over an open fire. Not only was the meal cooked from scratch but absolutely everything was grown and produced organically by May’s extended family. Being vegetarian I sometimes lack choices but not today! Roasted corn on the cob picked straight from the garden, seasoned Pumpkin greens, bamboo shoots sautéd with garlic, spring rolls, steamed rice, tofu and fried pork for those who enjoy. Homemade chili sauce to spice things up was the icing on the cake for me. We’ve been in Saigon, Hanoi and Sapa and without a doubt the meal we enjoyed sat around the table with May and her family was simply delicious, the best we’ve eaten hands down! As we explored the countryside listening to May’s tales about customs and traditions we learned that a bride receives a bracelet when she marries. I was thrilled to discover that May’s father -in- law makes the silver bracelets and I was able to purchase one as a very special gift for our daughter. I’d been hoping to find treasures that ethically supported the local community and the bracelet is exactly the sort of souvenir I’d been hoping find. After driving a little further we stopped for a medicinal hot bath in large wooden tubs that soothed us. What a treat! We also had the chance to purchase genuine handicrafts sewn by a group of delightful Red Dao ladies. What a day! Top tips. Travel with an open mind and be prepared to witness how locals truly live. Also, the weather wasn’t the best because of an approaching cyclone so be prepared with wet weather gear and water shoes to ensure warmth and comfort. Bring cash if you’d like to buy some unique gifts. This is a trip that we’ll always remember with fondness. Thanks May!
