Unforgettable experiences offered by the amazing people of ETHOS - We had two experiences: an overnight stay in a Hmong house with embroidery workshop and a beautiful hike to the place, and a batik workshop at the main office in Sapa. We had a beautiful time with both: exploring, discovering the very long techniques, meeting with the lovely locals, etc. If you are looking for a genuine experience of these amazing tribes’ life, then contact Ethos with no hesitation! Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful, from the owners of the company to our hosts and guides. The people of ETHOS have big, caring hearts. We are very happy and grateful for our time with them.

Experience of a lifetime. Thank you Ethos. - We had the absolute best experience with Ethos in Sapa, and I can safely say it will be a firm number one highlight of our entire trip round Vietnam. From the second we arrived it was clear that everyone working at Ethos cared about us, the community, and the local ethnic groups deeply. This care was key to our experience, and we left wishing we could come back immediately. We did the herbal trail 2 days 1 night experience, and went with the lovely May Sieu for it, of the Red Dao people. She was bright, friendly, always happy to explain and accommodate us and our requests, and quite honestly almost made us bin the rest of our trip to elsewhere in favour of staying and experiencing more. The care shown to the local people is evident and the importance of it cannot be overstated, with many other tour groups based externally being more than happy to exploit the region and give nothing back. Using this method of close collaboration and equal footing with the true local guides, Ethos is able to provide a truly authentic experience with knowledgeable and friendly people. Additionally, even after our trip was completed, they very happily went above and beyond with recommendations of great restuarants, accommodations in the rest of Sapa, and great locations to visit throughout the rest of Vietnam. Once again, it feels like you are talking to very kind friends, not some soulless tour company. I genuinely cannot recommend this more, and I feel that no matter what else we could've done upon coming to Sapa - this would have blown them all out of the water. Thank you again Ethos for the experience of a lifetime, from an organisation that has been carefully nurtured to help sustain a culture that has been, and continues to be, heavily discriminated against. You are amazing, and please keep doing all you do. We will be back 😁.

Best experience you can find in Sapa - We did the Buffalo loop 2 day trek and had an incredible time. Our guide, A, was very knowledgeable and made sure we were safe and comfortable every step of the way, even holding my fiancée’s hand to help her trek through mud and water at some points. The homestay was another important exposure to a culture and way of life that we would otherwise not encountered in Vietnam. Phil and Hoa from Ethos also gave us a detailed history of some of the indigenous populations in the Sapa area. I highly recommend booking with Ethos, for an experience that ensures fair pay and an ethical touristic experience.

Truly a spectacular and unique adventure! - We had a phenomenal experience here! On top of gaining knowledge and insight on the daily lives of the locals, we were experienced their delicious cuisine through families that are wonderful hosts. Our tour guides, May Lai and A, were truly amazing and really made these trek tours the truly unique and spectacular experience that a typical tour won't be able to provide. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique way of seeing the other awesome side of Sa Pa.

Unique experience in Vietnam - I did the Buffalo Valley Treck trail, it was very cool. Beautiful landscapes. The coolest thing about ETHOS is the possibility to get to know the local culture, as a guide a woman from the Hmong ethnic group. Our experience was wonderful!

Two days out of time and an extraordinary human experience in magin landscapes - I lived two days out of time on the Buffalo Valley trek. I was solo with my guide Hmong Mi with whom I spent two days very rich in emotions and information on the lives of ethnic groups. The landscapes and panoramas are fabulous, we crisscross them off the beaten path through bush and rice fields. A must for me if we come to Sapa, especially since it allows Ethos to finance its very useful actions with the Hmong people. Phil’s long presentation of the Vietnamese and ethnic context before departure was exciting, a wealth of information. I would definitely recommend any ride with Ethos, it is definitely an extraordinary human experience. And I am happy to bring back with me embroidery that I bought to the women who welcomed me for a meal or a night, souvenirs that have meaning and great sentimental value.

Once in a lifetime experience - We had no special expectations, it was important for us to experience the country and the people up close, away from the tourist flows and got this recommendation from a friend. As it turned out, this tour was one of the best we ever did. We were able to get incredibly authentic insights into the lives of Hmong residents and our guide, A, who spoke perfect English, told us all about the lives of her people. We met 3 different families, ate, drank and laughed with them. We would welcome everywhere very warmly. It was fun, exciting, exciting, exhausting and simply unforgettable. You probably can't have a more authentic experience. A thousand thanks to Hoa and Phil for this great initiative!

We had a great time on... - We had a great time on this trip, everyone at the company is really lovely and the involvement of the community is great. Our guide, Cha, was amazing, really insightful on local life and we really enjoyed staying with her and meeting her lovely family. The trip had educational elements which were really interesting and the countryside that we trekked was beautiful, a really great way to see this part of the country and learn about local culture. Thank you!!

Awesome Adventure through Sapa’s Rice Paddies - We had an incredible time on the Buffalo Valley Trek with our guide A! A is knowledgeable, cheerful, and made our journey super enjoyable. She told us a lot about Hmong Culture, took us yellow raspberry picking, and taught us a few Hmong words! We love her to bits. The hike itself is not too challenging but the views are very beautiful. The homestay hosts were extremely kind and it was awesome hearing their stories over glasses of happy water. The staff at ETHOS made sure we felt well-prepared and comfortable before heading off. Highly recommend to all! Thanks for the memories 😉

Great and authentic experience! - For two days we had an amazing experience with our guide. In the beginning Hoa explained a lot about the background and also interesting facts. The trek with our guide Ha was really great, based on explanation with her family and people as well as a lot of fun! The hosts at the homestays were really kind and the meals were delicious! We would really recommend to have an authentic experience about the life of Hmong people.
