Highlights
Snowshoeing is one of the best ways to explore the Lappish nature and it offers great opportunities for photography too. On this tour, we will take a journey through the snowy depths of Arctic wilderness. Snowshoes grant us an opportunity to reach and connect with untouched nature and take in the glorious atmosphere of Arctic forests. From Rovaniemi we will travel by minivan to our location hidden in the woods. We provide you with high quality snowshoes, especially made for deep-snow hiking and take a few kilometres’ hike in the wilderness.
During the day, we will have a break in a wooden shelter where we will build a campfire and enjoy some snacks while photographing the Arctic nature. The tour is guided by a professional photographer who will also teach you some tricks and techniques for your own landscape and nature photography. If we are lucky we might also see some wild animals during our adventure.

Embark on a thrilling snowshoeing journey through the pristine wilderness of Lapland, amidst its snow-laden forests. Our three-hour exploration offers you an opportunity to immerse in untouched nature at its purest, away from bustling crowds. Our trips are conducted in small groups to offer maximum time for exposure to the breathtaking landscape around us. You’ll also have the assistance of a professional photographer to help encapsulate the best Lapland has to offer during our excursion!

Great outing with a wonderful guide! - An amazing day in the wilderness with our wonderful guide, Sarah. She was so knowledgeable, engaged and made everyone feel welcome and included. The fire, sausages and Berry juice after the hike was sooooo hygge! (That's "cozy" in Danish). Thanks for a wonderful day!

Great experience - We had an incredible time with our guides Oren and Louane during a snowshoeing activity.
We took the walk in a magnificent forest on the edge of a frozen lake covered with a meter of snow! It was an isolated and quiet place!
We were able to observe many animal tracks in the snow. Oren gave us lots of information about nature!
The weather conditions were perfect: -25°C, sun, clear sky!
The trees were covered in snow and we enjoyed superb light. We were very lucky!
After the walk we made a campfire in a Kota and ate excellent sausages with hot drinks.
Oren and Louane explained a lot to us about Lapland and the Sami people, it was very interesting.
We can't wait to see the photos taken by Oren.
Beyond Arctic offers great activities while taking care of nature. They carry out ecological activities to reduce their carbon impact.
They also lent us warm clothes for the walk free of charge. It was essential with the arctic temperature!
We will keep wonderful memories of this activity, thank you!

Great nature walk and a workout - Oren has done it again! Our group was pretty small, but we were able to hike the area and more. There are some spots that he took us to that you see mostly in pictures from other users or something out of a nature documentary. Something about nature, snow and the clear skies puts me at ease. Maybe it's the quietness or in awe at the beauty of the scenery. I just felt connected. Snowshoe is not easy but not impossible. Foots of snow and having snowshoes on make it a nice workout. Plus Oren is a great photographer!
Of course we did setup a campfire in a teepee and had a small lunch. Oren also explains the mission statement of Beyond Arctic which has reinforced why I chose this company. They are environmentally friendly and leaves nothing behind.

Snow Shoe Adventure! - This tour was great to see the snow covered forests in Rovaniemi. The guide helped us with our snow shoes and gave us a great history lesson. Very friendly. Additionally we had Finnish sausages in a tent.

Great outing - If you're a noob arctic tourist like we were then this snow show excursion with Beyond Arctic is perfect.
Beyond Arctic seem to have got a niche in the small group excursions and it's to their credit.
Our group was so small it was just the two of us. With two guides Annti and Juho.
They kit you out with shoes, poles, and show shoes in their offices, drive to a nearby walking trail and then just take you off the trail through small hills and trees. The scenery is awesome and Antti took some great photos of us.
You finish off the trek with a few sausages (vegan available) around a fire.
Obviously 90 Euros per person is not cheap but if you have no transport to these trails and knowledge of which trail to take then I would highly recommend Beyond Arctic.

Fun outing - We had a wonderful day out in the forest exploring. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to Beyond Arctic head office where we were kitted out with boots and snowshoes. A short drive to the forest and we were off on our adventure. There were only 4 in our group with 2 guides so we had plenty of help with the snowshoes. We spent a fantastic couple of hours in the forest exploring and marvelling at the scenery. Our guides were very attentive and helpful but not smothering. We were encouraged to explore and make our own track through the forest whilst keeping in view of the rest of the group. It was a great way to get out into the forest, get some great exercise (I worked up a sweat going up some of the hills!) and appreciate the beauty of a winter landscape. Our trip finished with a BBQ and hot drinks before heading back into town where we were ultimately dropped back to our hotel. Highly recommend this company and this expedition

Great Experience in Finnish Lapland - We took part in the 3hr snow shoeing session with Beyond Arctic. There was only 6 of us in the meeting area and i soon realise the company only accept small group. We were then handled a small bag with personal termos of hot berry juice and other tools such as personal seat pad. Winter clothes were also provided.
Markus and another guide took care 6 of us, so it is like in 1:3, very caring policy of the company. They help us took great photos using their DSLR and tell us the story about the wilderness and also about the arctic stories.
The most excited part was the decision not to walk the trails paved but to walk through the frozen swamp or bushes of blueberry. This add additional challenge to the trip but it makes it more memorable.
I could only say the 3 hrs journey ended too fast without realising. We had a great time with BeyondArctic and we are looking forward to joining them again soon.

Nice guides but very short walk and not an adventure - I thought this tour was very poor. The guides were very young and friendly but the tour itself was a 30 minute, at best, loop walk through a forest. Hardly an adventure as described in the blurb. Then back to a tepee where we cooked a sausage and took some more photos before back to the city. There was no information about the area or the landscape. It felt like a tick boxing exercise.
