Frozen waterfall hike - The hike was a little over 5km, and a good bit of up and down hiking. We were offered snowsuits (which we both used) and boots (which my husband used) I would definitely recommend using their gear unless you have your own amazing gear. Allie was our fantastic guide, she kept us informed along the hike, encouraged us, and made sure everyone was comfortable. It was -30c on our hiking day, but it was still very enjoyable!

An Amazing Winter Excursion! We loved it! - This is a must do when you’re visiting Rovaniemi in the winter time. This day tour takes you out to the Korouoma Canyon and its surrounding forest to see its frozen waterfalls and it was everything I was hoping for. We went hiking through a dense snow covered forest, the kind you would typically only see in professional photos and movies if you’re not living in Arctic Circle. The pictures and videos I got to capture of this winter wonderland were amazing and the frozen waterfalls along the canyon were a sight to behold! A big thank you to our guide, Vero for doing a fantastic job guiding us and making sure we were all safe throughout the whole tour! The tour started when we met our guide at the company office in Rovaniemi at 9 am and it ended when she brought us back to the office around 4 pm. The site is about a 2 hour drive southeast of Rovaniemi so the actual time we spent at the Korouoma Canyon Reserve was about 4 hours. This was a fantastic day trip and I definitely recommend you look into doing this when you’re visiting Rovaniemi in the winter time! - Nolan

Great hike - My friend and I went on a great hike in Korouoma Canyon National Park with our very kind guide Atanas to see the frozen waterfalls up close. He shared his knowledge about nature with us, and managed to find us berries in the snow. In addition to great views and fresh air, we got to learn how to make a fire from birch and enjoyed fire-roasted sausages and marshmallows in good company. Highly recommended.

Great experience! - Our guide Thomas was very friendly and knew a lot about the area and Finnish culture. It was the perfect combination of stunning nature and learning about Lapland. The walk was quite easy with the last part being upwards and a bit harder than the rest. We really liked that we were part of a small group of only 4 people so there was time for pictures without stressing about the rest of the group also wanting to take pictures at the same spot (we booked the late tour at 9, I think the earlier tour had more people). The tour includes some fun slides if you are adventorous, and they will provide you with good gear (boots and snowsuit) and ice spikes if needed.

Highly recommended - The canyon experience is a long drive from the city centre but Emily, our guide, was very professional, caring and made sure we were all safe. Cannot fault this experience. For us in our 60’s found it challenging but well worth it! The scenery is breathtaking and cold! Amazing experience and would highly recommend it!

Magical experience - It was magical, trekking through the beautiful environment & seeing the magnificent waterfalls. It was mostly an easy walk, however the last 30mins is uphill, which I walked at my own speed tolerance and it was fine. Tim was a great guide, was very helpful and tolerant & provided a fantastic experience. Highly recommend.

Wonderful walk - This was certainly one of the highlights of our holiday. It is wonderfully serene and beautiful, and a great walk with some nice slides for the children (and young at heart). I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the outdoors, it's absolutely worth it. Our guide, Alli, was very nice and friendly, we really appreciated her guidance.

A Snow Hike that fell really short of our Expectations. - We were disappointed with this experience mainly because of the guide Anna assigned to our group and her lack of engagement with the group. Anna walked at the front of the group, never taking the opportunity to check in with our family of 6 who were walking behind 2 younger girls. My husband and I are active mid 60yo who were holidaying with our 4 adult children. They were left to check in with us and at times guide us down some very icy tracks. Anna stopped once to help me slide down one of these icy slopes. (she had suggested to the whole group at several of the icy down hill tracks, to slide down them on our bottoms rather than hold the rope). At one stage Anna became involved in a very verbal altercation with an independent tour guide who was suggesting that our group should be wearing spikes given the conditions of the snowfall). This angry verbal display was not a good look for our tour group! Not once did Anna stop and wait for all of us to reach the stopping point so that we could all hear what information she wanted to share with the group. At one time we asked her to repeat her information and although she did, she did not receive the request graciously. One final comment I made to Anna when we all finally returned to the tour van and I would like to make note of it here also, is that the Trip Advisor activity description suggests that this hike is suitable for 0-99yo. We all felt the age range is highly inaccurate when you are expected to walk or slide down icy tracks, you may be walking in good falls of powdery snow and that the last 800m of the hike is up a very steep gradient that the young, and definitely the active seniors, found very challenging. Anna estimated that the distance we had walked was about 7km.
