Amazing experience with guided tour, Maori carving & thermal/mud pools - We had the most incredible time at Hell's Gate. Our guide, Luke, was an exceptional guide who had a wealth of knowledge but also presented with such a great sense of humour. The walk itself took around 2.5hrs and would highly recommend the guided tours which run twice daily. We learnt so much about the area and NZ culture, which we wouldn't have known without being on this guided tour. The Maori carving was a lovely touch & fun for all. Lastly, the thermal baths & mud pools were such a unique experience and one we'll never forget!

Fantastic experience - What an awesome experience at Hells Gates. We did a guided tour with Liam and he was amazing. So knowledgeable about the Maori culture and Rotorua. And very funny. Thoroughly entertained us throughout the whole experience. The mud baths and thermal pools were so relaxing. And my skin felt so soft afterwards.

Awesome experience, best tour guide ever! - We visited from Australia and we had such a great experience at Hells Gate. Our tour guide, Ngati was the best tour guide we have ever had. He was magnificent, he spoke from the heart, was passionate, informative and funny! We also did the mud baths and Sulphur pools. It was a great day and well worth the money. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Rotorua.

Don't miss this! - My husband and I had an amazing experience. We joined the 2:30 guided tour and were so glad we did. The tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and we learned so much. The geothermal activity makes for a surreal atmosphere. It is a geothermal area, so be prepared for the sulfur smell. We finished our time there in the mud baths and thoroughly enjoyed everything we did.

Take me to Hell any day - Who wouldn’t want to go to Hell? What a great experience it was. I travelled with my 16yo son and to be honest I was a bit worried this wouldn’t appeal to him however I was completely wrong. The main reason he enjoyed it so much was Naati? (aka The guy with the long name or The guy that says coolio). He was full of passion and knowledge. We could have listened to his story telling all day. His love for nature was infectious, he is a credit to this business. We thank him for making our day memorable. The mud baths were a must do and we even partook in the cold plunge pool. Overall this was a fantastic experience and one we would recommend to everyone.

Great experience - Incredible place. Our tour guide was absolutely phenomenal! Unfortunately I can't remember his full name, but he told us to just remember he was the tour guide with the REALLY long name. He was so informative and very demonstrative.

Great experience - We had the tour guide with the really long name (he told us to write that) and he was absolutely incredible. One of the most enthusiastic, animated, and upbeat people I have ever met and detail and stories he told were unmatched. Easily the best tour guide I’ve had. The place was beautiful and highly recommend

Awesome day experience - We did the guided tour with Tekotia or 'T' for short. Initially we thought to do the walk by ourselves but decided to wait the 10 or so minutes for him to come, and we're so glad we did. T was informative both from a cultural and scientific point of view. He gave us blessings us we went through each section of the walk and gave information which we would not have picked up on, without him. We mentioned how we were from Tasmania at the start of the 2 or so hour walk and toward the end he pointed out the Tasmanian rock on the map of Australia mud pool. The mud baths, hot springs and carvings were also really, really awesome to do and the package was well worth the money.
