Great experience - I did the 3 hour Bangkok photo tour with Paul end of august and we started at 8am. I enjoyed it very much. Paul took me to a lot of interesting spots, quite apart from the usual places I would have walked myself. But at least as rewarding as the locations, was talking to Paul and getting some insights about different photographic topics. From how to approach people to finding a photographic style, it was very obvious that he is a dedicated and professionell photographer and his positive and dynamic attitude was great. I felt very comfortable approaching people with him, something I normally struggle with. I do recommend this tour, it was a real pleasure. Thanks Paul!

Getting behind Bangkok's outer facade. - Worked with Paul Lukin for two different extended photo sessions at the end of April 2024 in the city. My first time in Bangkok. Both sessions started at 15:30 partly to avoid the extreme heat of the middle of the day. Very sensible as far as I was concerned. We covered architecture and street genres primarily with a bit of portraiture. Our locations were the railway station, Chinatown and an authentic Thai inner city area alongside Chinatown. Paul was brilliant, fully enthusiastic, a true street photographer, fearless, patient where possible, and persistent. We worked in is usual style of black and white which was so effective in Bangkok's back streets. I learnt a lot. Would work again with Paul again without hesitation.

Incredible night photography tour - This night photo tour was the highlight of my week in Bangkok! I learned more in 3 hours than I ever thought possible. Paul, the instructor, couldn't have been more friendly, knowledgable, encouraging, and amazing at teaching. I'm going to sign up for other Aperture Tours now when I'm in the cities they're located in.

Best Photo Tour in Bangkok - This was the best photo tour I have ever been on. Bangkok is very photogenic but my guide took me down alleys and into places not normally seen. Paul was a knowledgeable, friendly guide. Thanks!

night tour with some hidden gems - I did the night photography session with Paul. Really enjoyed it. Paul has his own style but he doesn’t dominate and wants you to get the most of the event. He offered to take me where I wanted but when I asked him to take the lead, he knew exactly where to go to get great shots. He also has good technical knowledge, instinct and passion that he is happy to share. All in all, a really enjoyable, informative and fun session that I would recommend to anyone who loves photography but doesn’t know the best places. The Wat Arun night view was definitely the highlight.

Great experience in shooting streets and exploring the less touristy side of Bangkok - Took a very short break in Bangkok and decided to find a guided tour to do some streets photos. It was my first time doing this style of shots, with a newly acquired fixed focal length 28mm f1.7 camera (and I used to travel with my heavy DSLRs and a few prime & zoom lens), and always a bit anxious about shooting photos of strangers on the street. The Photographer/Guide (Paul L) was very friendly and helpful, and showed many interesting and unusual spots to shoot. Overall experience was great, and highly recommended!

Brilliant Photo Tour! - I booked on to the 8am 3-hour tour with Paul last week on a bit of a whim, but so glad I did. Paul clearly has a wealth of knowledge both in photography and in the local areas in which we explored, he's generous with the knowledge offering loads of tips and tricks, particularly once we'd explored a bit about my own motivations. One thing I was interested in was heading off the beaten track, which we definitely did, ducking down alleyways, local markets, residential buildings and areas in which, frankly, I'd be far too apprehensive to fully explore on my own. And with that managed to capture some great shots - in my humble opinion! Aperture were great with the pre and post tour communication, even sending out some technical notes following the tour, which will come in handy. My only problem now is getting back to Bangkok to shoot some more there! Thanks Paul/Aperture.

Aperture Photo Tour of Bangkok at Night - While on a one week visit to Bangkok I took the opportunity to sign up for the Bangkok Night Photo Tour offered by Aperture Photo Tours. Having done similar Aperture tours in London, Paris and Singapore I was aware of the likely quality of the tour I could expect and was not disappointed. Paul, my assigned Aperture Photo Tour guide, was knowledgeable of the best night photo spots to visit in the city and was valuable in suggesting the best compositions at each location. He also challenged me to try different approaches in capturing the scenes before us. An added bonus was that I was visiting Bangkok during Chinese New Year so I was able to take some great images that captured the festive atmosphere in Chinatown. I would highly recommend Aperture Photo Tours if you want to maximize your photo memories when visiting any of the locations where they offer tours.

Last-minute cancellation, left me with no plans - I booked this tour for my last day in Bangkok. Two hours before we were supposed to meet, the guide canceled, and the company did not have any additional guides that could fill in.
