Its domes, vaults, and upper walls are adorned with gold-ground mosaics depicting saints, prophets, and biblical scenes.
• Ponte dei Sospiri - Known locally as the Bridge of Sighs, this iconic Venice landmark was built in the 1600s and connects the Doge’s Palace to the historic prison across the canal. It earned its name because, during the Serenissima, prisoners would sigh as they crossed it, knowing it might be their last view of the outside world.
• Chiesa di San Zaccaria - The Church of San Zaccaria is a 15th-century former monastic church in central Venice, located in Campo San Zaccaria. Built between 1458 and 1515, its facade is a harmonious blend of late-Gothic and Renaissance styles.
• Ponte dell’Accademia - One of only four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, the Ponte dell’Accademia crosses near the southern end of the canal and is named after the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia.
