Loved Pompeii - The tour was great, though I thought they were meeting us in Rome, tickets for the train were sent the day before and all instructions to meeting point was easy to follow, really appreciated the texts to make sure we received the tickets and made it on the train was a nice touch. The tour at Pompeii was amazing and guide knowledge and myself and friends had no where to be after so we were able to continue walking around Pompeii after the guide left, we were also given an option to change our return tickets home if we left early, we didn’t. But it’s also a nice touch. My only suggestion is to be more clear on the trip home from the first train, that Napoli Centrale is also calledNapoli Garbaldi

Rome to pompei - Great way to get to Pompeii to Rome, the guide didn’t show us everything so do go off after the tour has finished and go back and look again, it’s not their fault there is just a lot to walk round, train ride back to Rome was lovely, the tour guide company was brilliant they sure you where to go and sent what’s app messages

This was such a... - This was such a wonderful, informative and insightful tour. I wish I had gotten our tour guides name because she was wonderful-very knowledgeable but was able to make it relatable. She answered all of our questions and we all left feeling like we learned so much and would recommend this tour for all age groups.

Great experience, very professional staff, 100% recommended - Great experience. I loved Pompeii and everyone at inStazione was very helpful and professional. I booked it last moment but still everything went smooth. We got picked up at Napoli Centrale and given all the information and instructions to go to Pompeii where we found our guide

By train, and guided to Pompeii - My colleague and I both found the trip from Rome to Pompeii very well organised. Zb we were provided in Napoli with tickets for every step of the whole day. We were content to ride on the train instead of bus. The tour in the impressive Pompeii was very educational and competently done. The only criticism: we had to wait a long time (until mid-afternoon on the day before the trip) for the Rome - Naples tickets, which was stressful on a Friday afternoon and made us doubt whether we had fallen victim to fraud when booking. After that we were very well looked after and accompanied via WhatsApp.

Amazing trip and well looked after by inStazione - Booked online with inStazione to travel by train from Rome and visit Pompeii for the day, on 7 march 2025. Cost about £250, for two (not including food/drinks/tips for guide). From the beginning to the end, the company (inStazione) were excellent and looked after us very well. They kept in touch via WhatsApp, emailed us train tickets for the high speed train from Rome to Naples and met us at Naples central station. The journey took just over an hour. The train was clean and comfortable and there were USB charging ports. The staff members at Naples were very helpful and very professional. They took time to explained every step of the journey in detail, printed train timetables, provided us with the remaining train tickets and entry tickets etc, and even walked us to the platform! The train from Naples to Pompei (direction Solerno) was OK. No pre-booked or allocated seats, so my girlfriend and I could not sit together initially. It took maybe 30 or so minutes to get to Pompeii. We were then met by another member of staff briefly to direct us to a waiting link bus that took us to Pompeii itself. The bus dropped us off practically in front of the site and we met our guide and group. The tour lasted about 2 hours and was really educational and fun. Lots of walking on very uneven surfaces so make sure you are wearing comfortable footwear. I strongly recommend buying your snacks/foods and plenty of water/drinks that you can carry with you until you are ready to eat. We bought out food at Rome termini before setting off for the day. The site is huge so make sure you take the correct exit to find the train station you need to travel back to Naples. This was a small and very busy local station and a very busy local train with no seats. There were beggars on the train. Not the best experience and in hindsight I think I would have preferred to take the bus back to Pompeii station then a different train to Naples, rather than this train direct to Naples. Once back at Naples central station it was a case of finding the right platform and getting ourselves back to Rome. The train back to Rome set off on time but was about an hour late getting into Rome! The whole trip was about 12 hours, very tiring but so much fun! Weather in March in Pompeii was sunny and warm. Take sunglasses, hats and suncream. It was busy. I imagine it would have been horrendously hot and very crowded in the summer and would not recommend going then. We could not climb up Vesuvius as it is closed to tourists till end of March. We did not stay in Naples in Pompeii and would not recommend doing this. Overall an maxing experience, loved the trip and the tour and thank you very much to inStazione staff and our guide in Pompeii. You were amazing : )

Trip to Pompeii from Rome - This was a great experience! When the trains from Roma were delayed we were able to contact the company and they helped us to get to the guided tour on time. We were met by a friendly guide at Napoli to get on us on the right train to Pompeii. The pompeii tour guide was very engaging and made sure our 7 year old was fully involved and enjoyed the day. Well worth the money!

Entertaining and educational trip back in time - Amazing tour- a highlight of our family’s trip to Italy. Super fun and engaging guide kept it interactive and shared so many fun facts. Even in the rain, we had an awesome experience. Train was great way to travel. Do recommend wearing sturdy shoes.

Good with some glitches - The company did a good job trying to stay in touch with us. Pompeii itself was really cool. Our son’s headset broke and they didn’t have extras. Also, it would be helpful to have the guide keep the microphone closer to their mouth. The transportation back wasn’t clear. It was a different high speed train and the pdf was different between the companies. We did have plenty of time to get clarification at the train station.
