In addition to viewing the first two tiers of the amphitheater, participants will stand on the arena floor, gazing up at the stands just as the gladiators once did.
The tour continues into the subterranean corridors beneath the arena, where wild animals were housed and gladiators prepared for combat. This area, where much of the action occurred, remained hidden from most Roman citizens of the time. In the Forum, visitors will witness where public life took place. On Palatine Hill, they will stroll through the imperial palaces, located where the legendary Romulus is said to have founded the magnificent city.
