A great tour - This tour gave us a really broad overview of all there is to see in the Palentine Hills and much of the Colosseum. Our Guide was very informative and certainly knew his history.

Scott is amazing. - Amazing. Scott was absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend it and him to everyone. Very knowledgeable and took us to some of the off the beaten path areas that were super cool. Really took care of the group on a super hot day. Thanks so much Scott. And a wealth of knowledge of both in and out of the forum. Go. You won’t regret it.

Enjoyed Every Moment - Our tour with Nicola was amazing. First, have to admit I was skeptical on the size of the group we would be going with but the tour group was only 10! Which was PERFECT! Also, i want to highlight that the day before I'd had a terrible fall and spent time at the ER in the local hospital getting a large gash in my knee repaired, and while i could walk, stairs/curbs required care and Nicola ensured I could go at a pace that didn't cause me pain but also didn't hold back the rest of the group - which in one case involved using an elevator at the colosseum (which was a cool experience as well). The tour itself was great. Nicola was very knowledgable and entertaining in his narrative of the Colosseum and the areas around it. We are english speakers and his english was great - very easy to understand. He also ensured we all got the best photos of our group (he took several great snaps with our phones!). Our "family" group included my spouse's 25 yr old son who also enjoyed every moment of the tour. In fact, the tour identifying sticker "Show Me Italy" was stuck to the outside of his Airpod case even as we flew home! The tour was $ well spent. Bravo Nicola!

Not what I paid for $$$ - I booked and paid for a semi private tour (up to 10 people), but Show me Italy put us in a tour of 23 people. When I questioned the cost difference, the tour operator 'Show me Italy' (Sergo) said I would have to get a refund from Get Your Guide, which is the app I booked the tour through. Also, the tour guide Lorenzo did not mention nor take us up to Palantine Hill, which was to be included in the tour. The tour ran late because the guide talked a lot, and the lady who monitors the Colosseum underground tours had to continually rush him along. I booked a 10:30 am start time for the tour but Show Me Italy changed it to 11:15am. I was told the reason was because the Colosseum administration changed the start time due to overcrowding of the monument. Lorenzo didn't even take us into the Colosseum until 1pm. Be sure to know what you paid for and question the tour operator if you don't get it.

As they say in Rome, BUYER BEWARE! HORIFFIC EXPERIENCE! - I had booked the colosseum tour for my 80 year old mother to experience on her once in a lifetime trip back in 2 months prior on a website called Colosseum Tours.
They sent me a voucher and booking confirmation email with specific instructions on where to meet the “Show Me Italy” Tour guide.
My family appeared for the tour on time and met with the Show Me Italy Worker in the Red Jackets. Two different workers looked up my name and ticket number, but were unable to find any record of the booking. These two workers told me that Colosseum Tours (the company and website I had booked through) was a different company from Show Me Italy.  I asked what that meant, and what they could do to help.  They asked if I could come back another day and I told them we could not as we were leaving the next morning.  In the ticket booking details, it clearly says "No shows/late arrivals will not be refunded." At this point, with the information that these were two different companies and I would need proof of my presence there, and not a no show or late arrival. So, I recorded myself being at the meeting location and with the Show Me Italy workers and stating that I had my ticket, but they could not find my booking, were unable to do anything for me.  The second worker directed me to the higher level worker to see if he could call for me.  When I met the third worker, I asked if he could call the help number listed on my booking as they previous two workers couldn't find my booking.
The second worker told the third worker that I had recorded a video of them.  And then the third worker said "you need to delete the video, and then I will call, or I will CALL THE POLICE.”  Taken aback, and shocked, I stepped away and said, no I will not.  I felt this to be quite a rude and hostile threat.   I felt like I was being scammed as he would not call to help figure out why my booking was in the system.  I tried to walk back to my hotel, but the Show Me Italy worker said he was calling the police because I was trying to scam him. He followed me and my family back through the streets of Italy, with me not knowing if I was going to be attacked/assaulted. There were 2 armed military guards with machine guns on the way.  The Show Me Italy worker told the military guards to stop us and we were held there for 1 hour until the police finally arrived. I told the worker that I understand he didn't want the video of him being taken, but it was for me to have proof that I appeared for the tour. If he would help call the help line and figure out why my booking was not in their system, I would delete it. The Show Me Italy worker refused and remained hostile. Finally, the police arrived and gathered information.  They said that the workers agreed to help me to get the refund if I would delete the video. I agreed to this.  Then an email came through with notification that my tour had suddenly been cancelled and refunded. Then we were sent on our way. This was a completely horrific, obnoxious, and disturbing experience.   I understand that booking mistakes happen, but all they had to do was offer to call the help line to figure out where the booking was and help to resolve the problem, but instead, they threatened and then did call the police on me.   If you are afraid to be recorded, then you are afraid to own up to your actions.
After explaining this experience to Show Me Italy, I was given a different explanation from what their on site workers gave. They stated that Colosseum Tours is the platform on which we sell our tours, together with thousands of other tour operators. They are the ones who take care of payments and refunds. When you make your booking they send us an email and we log it in our system so that our staff can buy tickets for you. Unfortunately there was a system problem with your booking and it did not come through, so it was not logged in our system, that is why our staff could not find it.
Though the company apologized, they failed to hold this rude employee accountable, and turned missing out on a once in a lifetime experience into a horrific drama.

My advice: choose ANOTHER company, or get treated like garbage if your reservation gets mixed up/lost/misbooked. Cannot add photos or videos due to the threat from the Show Me Italy Worker and Police.

Disappointed - Did get to go into any of the ruins. My wife didn’t have her ID with her. Didn’t have enough time to go back to the hotel to get it. Paid for nothing. I would like a refund.

Don't use Show me Italy! - When we arrived they changed our start time from 9 am to 1045 and did not inform us of this until we arrived. We booked the excursion well in advance of our trip to ensure we got what we wanted. Once the trip started the guide informed us that the underground portion of the tour was not included, but we had paid and booked our trip based on this. We were reimbursed 20% for our inconvenience. Very unhappy with the way the show me Italy dealt with the problem. Go with another company!

Don't be fooled - Don't overpay thinking you'll be in a small group - We payed more to have a small group experience (up to 10 ppl said our booking confirmation; max 13 ppl says the description). They didn't which group to put us in. We ended up in a group of 25. Our first guide led us to the Colosseum line-upand then we had to find the "archaeologist. She was nice but confused and said we overpaid for one of her tours. We tried to call the office but that failed. So, we followed this giant group. The sound would cut out because we were so far behind her. Apparently all her groups are 25+. Needless to say, we were disappointed. We did not get what we payed for.
