Very good customer service from Dolly - I was due to travel in August on this holiday however due to operational reasons, the tour may not have run and I was made aware straight away. I dealt with a women called Dolly and she offered me alternative options and we decided to refund the tour which was done promptly. Dolly gave me some brilliant advice and some useful insight to Rome. She was fab!

Tour Sold Out - Alternative Tour Option - The company messaged me shortly after purchase that the 1:00pm guided tour time slot was fully booked, so they gave us an audioguide app on our phones instead. This ended up working out for us because there were about 40 "spots" on the audio guide and we were able to skip through and go see the places we were more interested in! Although it would have been nice to have a tour guide, we were happy with the alternative solution they provided us.

Missed opportunity - Our guide (An older woman), was accommodating to the slower people on the tour. However, she was rather rude about my elderly father's request to use the toilet before her planned stop. She was also not intune with her audience as most of us were young. She was not interested in engaging with anyone.

We took an English guided... - We took an English guided tour with a skip-the-line benefit that really worked well in July. It started on time, and the tour guide seemed very knowledgeable. However, his heavy Italian accent prevented me and my family from understanding the stories he was telling us.

Use a different company for this tour. - I accidentally bought my 21 year old daughter a child ticket. The catch is you need to put birthdates in for everyone in your party. Yet, the company didn’t review this info to let me know I made a mistake. My daughter couldn’t go in. So my daughter and I had to buy two adult tickets and were separated from my son and husband during the tour. If you aren’t going to raise a flag about an age, why ask for the information? Don’t use this company. There are plenty of other tour groups to use.

Just Buy Tickets Directly! - We did the Self-Guided Audio Tour. First of all, the directions say "The meeting point is at Via Labicana 96. Please arrive at the meeting point 30 minutes before your booking time. Our Staff will provide you with the ticket and the audio-guide App QR Code." We waited outside on the street for 30 minutes in the hot July sun because nowhere did it say to "Come inside our office, "Tour in the City" to obtain your tickets when you arrive." We actually got yelled out from an Italian lady for loitering on the street! Several of the tours from Viator just meet on the street, so we had no idea we needed to walk inside the travel agency. Once we figured it out, we got our tickets and downloaded the app. The app is junk! It is supposed to track your location to let you know when to listen to certain stops. The location finder had us standing in the middle of the road outside the Colosseum for most of the trip, and the stops are not labeled, so you have no idea when to listen to the stops. We ended up just wandering around on our own and reading the material posted within the Colosseum. Afterward, we took a break and then headed to the Forum and Paletine Hill. We didn't realize how HUGE this place was, and so we weren't able to finish it all before it closed. I would suggest giving yourself at least 4 hours to see all of the Forum and Palentine Hill. Be prepared that it is also a lot of walking! My advice....just buy your tickets directly and save the money, especially if you are just planning to do the self guided audio tour.

Not guided and pain - The location to meet your guide is quite a distance from the actual Colosseum and by guide it is an audio guide. It is no different than just buying the tickets yourself and using the numerous free audio guides. Actually, the one difference is that you wouldn't have to hike a half a mile to pick up your tickets and then back to the Colosseum.

RIP-off, don’t bother - We booked a tour to the Colesseum, Roman forum and Palatine Hill for 2 adults and 2 children. Normal entrance for the 4 people is 36 euros and we were charges 123 euros for the entrance (kids were charged even thought they go free), the only thing the tour included was an app that you had to download and you needed a new smart phone otherwise you can’t download and your own head phone and we didn’t have any of those. If you travel to Rome better book the entrance and save 90 euros for noand Hong. Total Rip-off but staff was understanding and reported that the website didn’t explained the tour nor requirements properly.
