Very nice - Easy to pick up the tickets and walked right in to the Castel St Anglo. Easy to find the person to meet up for the tickets.

Not sure if you have to book beforehand to guarantee tickets - It might be easier to go to the castle and get in line than have to meet someone outside who have many people waiting for their tickets and audio. Bit of a confusing system which took longer than expected in the heat. The line was low when we were there so I don’t know if the lines are longer earlier. We did it at 5pm so we could watch the sun set after the tour as recommended by a friend. Definitely worth seeing and doing the self tour.

This was really... - This was really interesting. The first part there was not a whole lot to see other than the castle itself but the further we went up the more impressive it got! Glad we went!

Skip the line entry and audio tour download (to a phone) to Castel Sant'Angelo - Skip the line entry and audio tour download (to a phone) to Castel Sant'Angelo. It was a interesting place to visit, with pictures, drawings and painting of the building over history as well as some old weapons on display. Just the building is interesting in its own right. You also get good views of Rome from the other side of the Tiber.

Go once only if you don’t have any other place to see - Worth visiting once if you don’t have other places to view. Definitely no need to skip the que ticket….as there are no ques !

Worth a visit - We did the audio guide and entry ticket. The information about the audio guide was sent through when I booked the tour, so I downloaded this over WiFi. Easy to follow and use. Just remember your headphones. Easy to use around the tour with obvious places to use the audio guide. Minimal information but was enough for me and the wife. Great views at the top of the city and Vatican.

Even though the castle... - Even though the castle and the history were very good, the audio guide should have been better. Not the best at directions, and got lost many times.

Headsets - Recommended - The Castel was amazing and the exhibits within it were very enlightening. We didn’t realize it was an audio guide download when we arrived and while we downloaded the app, we just didn’t have the battery life left on our phones or our headphones to provide a better experience on the tour. If you choose to do this tour, bring along your cell phone headsets and make sure you have significant battery life. Also, don’t close the app or you will not be able to redownload the information. I think a guided tour would have been better.
