Absolutely amazing! Manifredi was awesome! Highly recommend!!!! - Our ride was AMAZING!!! Our guide Manfredi was the best! He was so knowledgeable and informative, while also making sure that our daughters, who are 12 and 16, were safe throughout throughout the journey! We were able to take the longer full circle tour which really helped us to see many areas that we would have never been able to see on foot! For someone who has never taken an e-bike, it was such a wonderful way to see the area while still having a physically involved experience of being in nature. The bikes really made a ride that would have been challenging much more easy and enjoyable! Manfredi also allowed us to take periodic stops and took such care and time to explain different areas of interest as we progressed along the way. He took some amazing photos of us in such beautiful areas which we will cherish as family memories forever. We cannot say enough good things about this experience, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have an experience learning the history of ancient Rome in a beautiful and memorable way.

An amazing experience - we can’t recommend it enough! - We had a truly amazing day on this tour, and we can’t recommend it enough! We started off at the meeting point and got ourselves set up with the e-bikes, which were super helpful and easy to use. We then started by heading up the Appian way, while our guides Alessio and Marco provided interesting insights into the history of the road. We stopped for a coffee at a cafe before heading off again towards Albano. There, we stopped at the lake for a picturesque and refreshing swim (the backdrop of the mountains was amazing) , before climbing the hill towards Castel Gandolfo. The township was beautiful and we took a lot of pictures of view of the lake from above. We were also able to sample some local wine from the region. We then cycled back down to stop for some lunch before cycling back to the start point via the Roman Aqueducts. This tour was a perfect mix of informative, beautiful, and fun. It was made even more amazing by our wonderful guides, Alessio and Marco, who were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun to chat to! If you are an active person and want to explore some beautiful townships outside of the city, then this tour is for you!

A must if in Rome for a few days - What an amazing day in the country side of Rome. The Appian way is full of artifacts and the countryside is beautiful. Our guide was great for gear and biking advise in hills and bumpy areas, as well as being full of facts.

Unbelievable Experience In Rome - Today was our second day in Rome and was definitely one of our favorites. Our guide, Emmanuel, was the most amazing person you could ever ask for on a tour. He was so friendly, outgoing, fun, and knowledgeable. We rode the Appian Way all the way to the Castle Gandolfo, and to say it was beautiful was an understatement. We got beauty, awe, and history all compacted into one ride. Our bikes were super nice and lasted the whole day on battery which made it super easy. If you have to go somewhere, please choose here.

Awesome day on Appia Antica - Was a great ride and I appreciated having the electric bikes today as it was a long climb up the hill to Gandolfo. But anyone in decent condition could do this ride. Our guides were thoughtful and helpful and took us to an amazing local spot for lunch. The Appian way is bumpy, and this was more like a mountain bike experience than a road bike experience.

unique and memorable experience in Rome - It is an amazing tour especially if you love cycling! This unique experience lets you explore Rome away from the usual crowds. You’ll ride along the scenic Appian Way, enjoying beautiful lake views and numerous historical sites. The friendly and informative guide lead me to hidden spots, delicious local pasta, and try unique new wine. It felt like a little adventure since it was my first time riding a gravel bike off-road. Highly recommended for a different and memorable Roman experience!

Fantastic bike trip! - We had a great experience with cycling on fun trails and ancient roads along Via Appia. Our guide was very good at informing and telling the story along the way, and he adjusted the speed of the cycling so that it was possible to maintain a higher pace than on a regular group trip. The bikes were good, electric, off-road bikes. Recommended, and especially as a private trip!

Thanks for a fun and beautiful day - This was a very fun day. The staff started by making sure we had helmets that fit and the right sized bikes with the seats set correctly. The ride itself was a world away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. We stopped a number of times to learn about the history of the Appian Way. The staff was happy to take pictures of us on many parts of the ride. They also called ahead for a lunch reservation for a table overlooking the lake. It was enchanting. Such a gorgeous view. On the way back we saw an aqueduct and learned some more history. We were a bit sore but had a great time. Bus 660 is so convenient too, it drops you off right across the street. Thanks for a great day!

Top experience of our Italian holiday! - Private e-bike tour from Rome to Castel Gandolfo and back by bike (about 35mi) was a perfect balance of history, scenery and terrain variety. Emmanuel is a personable, fun and patient guide who truly shares with his guests adding to our experience (we met his mom, dog and friend!). His recommendation for lunch was one of the best meals of our trip! The ride on the Appian Way and via Francigena to Castel Gandolfo and back through the aqueduct park was more serene and authentic than we expected, as well as perfectly challenging for my family. I highly recommend this break from Roman congestion to the countryside on this route. Thank you Bicycle-e!
