On the way to the Roman Forum, you will walk by the Lapidarium, a former Roman tax office turned prison. After traversing Via dei Fori Imperiali, you’ll get the chance to explore Trajan Markets and the Column, which are counted among the most astounding views of a Forum. The Forum, constructed around 110AD by Emperor Trajan and completed by Emperor Hadrian, was dedicated to honoring Trajan, the Roman Army’s foremost leader. The impressive victories of Trajan are intricately carved around the Great Column.
Next, you’ll delve into the Roman Forum, witnessing its arches, streets, and structures before heading over to the Palatine. Here, you’ll get a private tour of either the House of Livia or the one belonging to her husband, Emperor Augustus. This visit includes a half-hour detailed presentation by one of the Forum’s dedicated guides.
Rest assured, your experienced guide will handle and detail all the aspects of the tour.
