Beautiful views. But we didn't do a guided tour. - The Appia Antica is spectacular. Beautiful landscapes full of history. We were also lucky enough to enjoy a sunny day in December. Bikes are very comfortable. The disappointment comes from the fact that it was not a guided tour. Our very nice and sympathetic companion was not a guide (no qualifications) nor prepared person. We have not received historical or environmental information. Certainly more useful is the information map given to those who rent a bike without taking the tour (to us it was not given). I was very sorry about this and I find it very unseemly on the part of the organizing body that presents itself as "official". The descriptive also includes this entry: Boss of Bove that we didn't use. The other aspect that left me puzzled is road safety, taking roads (albeit not very busy) against the beaten track is not a good way to plan an itinerary.
