Best excursion in Tortola - Oh this was a great excursion. Seth, our tour guide, was punctual and guided us to his nice open air vehicle. We had a great variety of food, including dessert, from different restaurants throughout the island. Our visit to the Botanical Gardens also had us tasting different natural spices and nuts. That was totally unexpected. Seth was very knowledgeable and took the time to show us the difference between male and female tortoises. It felt good to rub elbows with the local folks. We were able to shop briefly at some souvenir ships. The weather was beautiful and the time spent on this excursion was timed perfectly. We arrived back at the cruise ship with a couple of hours to spare. I did not want this excursion to end, but as we all know, all good things must come to an end. Don't think twice, book this excursion! You'll leave this excursion with a full stomach and happy!!

Schoolboy did an amazing... - Schoolboy did an amazing job! He made sure we enjoyed each meal and acted like a waiter at each location, better than the actual food staff. He seemed to know everyone and did a great job explaining the dish before we tried it.

BVI Food Tour - Schoolboy was the best! He had lots to talk about, knew so many people that we met randomly on the street, and was basically like a waiter checking in on us constantly. The food was amazing, including the pate. We ended up going back to one place after the tour because we liked it so much!

Unique and Local Food Tour - We had a great time on this tour! We tried a lot of unique food from local establishments and even spoke to a few owners. Everyone was super friendly and you could tell the first place we went to was big with the locals because there was a line out the door of people grabbing food before work. Just to clear up some confusion we had, the trolley in the description is basically an open air bus that would drive us around from location to location (I attached an example photo). We felt like we really went all over the entire island! There was no a lot of walking but getting onto the bus is some big steps. The tour started at 8am but pretty soon you lost track of time. Don't eat breakfast. There's plenty of food between all of the stops.

AMAZING Local adventure - This is single handed one of the BEST excursions we’ve booked. John and Marsha with Hike BVI were knowledgeable and attentive and super friendly! All of the local spots we visited were ran by amazing locals and they welcomed us with open arms to their Tortla establishments and treated us like family. We sampled turkey and salt fish patties, fresh from the tree cottage mangos, kingfish and fungi, mauby, fried chicken, chicken roti with mango chutney, passion fruit juice, brisket and strawberry lemonade, and gelato! Whew, we went back to the shop with our hearts and our bellies full!! Do not skip of this excursion while visiting Tortola.

Ate our way through - Cloe was so sweet and really worked hard to make sure we had a great day. We stopped at 6 different stops and ate our way through Tortola. I love that the places were local favorites and not just touristy type stops. The food was awesome and we will definitely do again when we come back!!

Enjoyed very much! - We very much enjoyed this tour. It gave us a chance to visit a variety of restaurants that would have been difficult to do since we did not have a car. Each restaurant had unique character and we got to taste local favorites. We often got the opportunity to meet the owners or chefs. In addition to the restaurants, our guide gave us a tour through Road Town, took us to a scenic lookout, and shared the history of the islands. Our guide grew up in Tortola and was able to answer our questions about life on Tortola. We did not have any dietary constraints. If you do, be sure to let your guide know at the start.

Great food, disappointing start - All food stops delicious, and the guide who took us was friendly and took great care of us. BUT we received no direction about where to meet, other than “Cyril Romney Pier Park,” which is where the cruise ships let out. After wandering about for several minutes, tried calling the contact number…went straight to voicemail. Left a message but never received a return call. Also sent a message in the app, but 7 hours later, no response there either. A kind local person directed us to the end of the pier where an information desk worker connected us with someone (the man who ended up taking us) who knew the tour guide that was supposed to meet us. 15 minutes later, he’d rounded up others who were looking for the same tour (and had received more accurate meet location, but no guide showed there either). Grateful for the man who took us and the delicious spots we sampled at. Did a similar tour on St. Croix and had a phenomenal experience. This was much less so, but not the fault of the businesses we visited.
