Opened in 2005, the “Libearty” bear sanctuary stands as Europe’s largest animal welfare initiative, offering a haven for abused bears. The sanctuary’s residents have been saved from harsh and abusive conditions, each with a remarkable story to tell.
Currently, “Libearty” houses more than 130 bears and is celebrated as the world’s most ethical sanctuary. It spans 70 hectares of oak forest, featuring trees for climbing, pools for swimming, and food tailored to veterinary diets.
