Upon gathering at Phil Foster Park, participants will paddle over sandbars towards Peanut Island. Along the journey, be on the lookout for spotted eagle rays, vibrant starfish, and possibly a manatee or two! Upon arrival at the island, exploration will include either the natural lagoon or the snorkeling rocks, depending on the conditions. During winter, the search will focus on manatees, while throughout the year, sea turtles, tropical fish, rays, and more will be sought. This adventure is planned for both high and low tide. At high tide, Peanut Island’s waters become a breathtaking display of crystal-clear aquamarine beauty—some of the clearest in South Florida. Weather conditions may influence water visibility.
